I got these initially and they were good but they did not block external noise as they do not go inside your ears, so ended up getting these instead which were a few $ more but worth it. Crystal clear sound and very comfortable in the ear.

For me I don't like those that goes inside, just can't stand the feeling and itchy too.

      • I have some Sony ones that shove in your ear but these TaoTronics ones I have are less intrusive than the Sony ones. They are much more comfortable, but I guess it all comes down to personal preference. For me, in an open plan office, blocking out the noise around me is key.

      • If you buy some Comply or similar foam (waxed foam) tips, you might find them to be less itchy.

        • apart from itchy, i really dislike the feeling of emptiness kind of you are in outer space, arghhh hard to explain…

          • @CyberMurning: That might be what is referred to as a "narrow soundstage".

Somewhat helped by foam tips, but it's definitely a trait of noise-isolating earphones and IEMs in particular.

It's part of the trade off for better isolation and sound quality.

    • Does the case has magnet so when we open it won't easily fall?

      • +1

Yes the case is magnetic so they don't call out.

    • Are they secure enough to cycle or run with?

      • +1

Yes that's part of the reason I got them. I normally run and have other earphones for that, but if I wanted to do a long walk instead then these in-ear ones are the ones I'd use. There's also 3 different size rubber caps so you can select the one that best fits your ear.

  • Are they good for phone calls

  • Not good for calls:
"Outside, your voice is battled by wind noise, traffic sounds, people talking nearby, and even low-frequency background noise. It all comes through loud in your calls…"

    • They say good for indoors calls only

Just returned some Soundpeats Truair2, which I bought after handing the TTs to one of my kids.

Given up on BT headphones, and bought a mic cable for my Mee M6 Pros - all up owing me around $65. Sound quality, and call quality, far exceeds TT/SP headphones, and the sound isolation - now I'm back on thin aluminium tubes again - is brilliant.

Only ongoing costs with these are the Comply tips.

Agree with the other comments above, the call quality is hopeless in anything other than a quiet environment.

I've had these ones as well as the SoundPeats TrueAir2 for a few months already, so I can offer a direct head to head comparison. I like the half in-ear designs better than the in-ear ones so I bought a few different ones to try.

    • Sound Quality: TrueAir2 hands down, with bigger sound, more body and bass. These produce better bass and sound than in-ears like the TrueDot and TrueEngine2, although you don't get the noise isolation.
    • Size: TrueAir2 are more compact and lightweight to wear in your ears. Case is more compact as well.
    • Comfort: TrueAir2 fit my ears better and are more secure.
    • Call quality: TaoTronics 92 sound louder and clearer indoors, but outdoors any noise at all (wind, cars etc.) muffles everything. TrueAir2 sounds clear but mic volume is softer.
    • Design: I like the design of the TaoTronics 92 better - feels more like the Airpods Gen1/2. With the TrueAir2 it's difficult to tell where lid flips open by feel alone.
    • Controls: Both are ok, but I find the touch controls on the TrueAir2 overly sensitive. If you have to take them out or adjust them, you have to handle them veeeery carefully otherwise you'll trigger an action

Having said that, I'll take the TrueAir2 anyday. Better sound, more compact and lightweight, and looks better overall.

    • awesome write up mate

      • Thank you! Also have the Taotronics 88, and the sound is not as good and case is bulkier. One interesting feature not found in the other two though is the in-ear detection - they stop playing when you take them out of your ears, and resume when you put them in.

But overall prefer the other two.

thanks OP - we prefer the half-in ear buds. Got some
