Anyone think this could be price beaten at Officeworks?
nope
anyone thinks these are over priced?
yes
They are all OP'ed. We have to stick to $19 kmart ones.
https://www.kmart.com.au/product/true-wireless-stereo-gaming…
But I don't mind paying $380 for the quality lol.
my airpod reps are still going strong after 2 years, anc, transparency, all the main features for ~$100
https://airpodsreplicas.com/introduction/overview
Yes! I remember getting my current AirPods Pro 1 for about $305. Still working fine, but battery life isn't the best. I rarely need more than 2 or 2.5 hours though, and it lasts more than that. (Oh, and this was in mid/late '20, so it was the only pro model available).
i remember buying airpods 2 for like $189 on discount for my partner and i thought it was a ripoff
but i happily use the free set that came with my motorola g75…
HOWEVER real time translations could be worth $400 + $2,000 for an iphone 17 pro max???
You only need iPhone 15 pro and later, b don't need 17
anyone
thinksknows these are beyond over beyond priced? That are not too overpriced consider what you get and what’s on the market . But expensive ? Fk yes
Nah
What isn't overpriced these days 💯
If you wait a bit these could potentially show up on their Doordash store like other airpods (Depending on store), which you could then purchase with the 20% discounted DD gift cards
Does it mean that you don't have to be a member??
You have to link an active membership to get the best price. The non-member price is not worth it
Are the prices in DD higher than the regular CostCo prices, like restaurant prices normally are in the apps? (Still probably going to be worth it with 20% discount)
@caprimulgus: They are higher, but no where near as much as restaurants. Roughly 2-3% higher from my past orders. Then add 3% service fee at checkout so overall 5-6% higher price than in-store before gift cards. You can also be charged a long distance fee if you are very far from the store. This is all assuming you have Dashpass and spend minimum $100.
@caprimulgus: Forgot to mention some instore specials are reflected in DD but definitely not all of them
Will anyone PM Costco? Assume not as it’s a paid sub?
officeworks used too but theyre gotta rid of it recently
God it's insane how much these things cost.
I'm sure it's a deal, but still $389.99 for ear buds, it's bonkers.
Not defending the price, but Sony and Samsung equivalents share the same RRP.
This is a standard price for top end ANC earbuds unfortunately.
But the other brands are very often obtainable well under RRP. Apple (to their credit) are able to maintain their RRP.
Maybe it's the Asian-ness in me that can't handle this. :P
No way. Your son is right.
Bose, Sony and Apple are priced similarly and are far superior to the cheap junk.
He doesn't want it for the audio quality, or ANC ability, or the features like the live translation. He wants it because it's APPLE.
And he's not the only person like that.@tangcla: I have Apple kit, but not Apple ear phones, and I can tell you the high end Bose and Sony earphones I have are much better than cheap shit. I went through a few low end ear phones before I bit the bullet and haven’t regretted it since. Me, I’m not prejudiced against why people like stuff.
@try2bhelpful: I have Bose ultra and AirPods Pro 2.
Use Bose on bus and noisy areas while AirPods in gym, walks, etc. mostly I reach out to AirPods.
@tangcla: Should've exposed him to fruits other than Apple when he was younger. 😛
Jokes aside, I hear ya!@tangcla: Like one of the comments above, I'm not defending the price. For a young person, they see these things as though it were a fashion item. I'm sure you've seen the kids that wear them 24/7 and even while talking to them. From that perspective, I can say why young people justify the cost themselves as they see it as a statement piece or an item to fit in. I'm sure we've all followed a stupid trend at some stage in our lives.
I've only owned the first airpods pro, and I want to add that, at least at the time of their release, the seemless connectivity of the airpods and iPhone were unbeatable. I'm not sure if that's changed now and if commodore have equalised the playing field. My point is, the value of things 'just working' is a feature in itself and people want that.
If u use these every day, on a dollar per use scale it’s good value. I can think of plenty of things around the house that I pay afew hundred bucks for and use it once a year, cough kitchenaid
These also work as a hearing aid, hearing test device, live translation and heart monitoring device. Obviously not the absolute best, but that's still money saved for those who actually use those features.
You can upload your audiogram and the headphones will adjust frequency response to accommodate hearing loss.
I’d like the people here negging Apple to show me a budget alternative with the same capability.
You can upload your audiogram and the headphones will adjust frequency response to accommodate hearing loss.
This happens in the phone software, not in the headphones.
@trapper: But the software uses the iPods Pro headphones. Try connecting some $40 AliExpress junk and see what happens.
How though? These have the best noise cancelling, improved battery life, has ip57 water resistance, all new design, 2x noise cancelling AND a heart rate monitor in it! They can live translate incredibly well and so much more. How is this bonkers? They didn’t even increase the price
Need a pair to replace my original pros but im not going to into costco without stock guarantee haha that place is a nightmare
Go for Airpods, stay for $2 hotdog
Sounds perfectly reasonable to medon't forget the giant box of toilet paper as well in readiness for the next lockdown
You mean the next plandemic 🏴☠️
But why do you want to replace it, shouldn't these last at least 13 - 15 years for the cost?
No , more like five to seven years ..
.
Try price match at jbhifi stack with gift cards
Can you refund after opening if you buy these at Costco?? Or only buying from Apple
Yes you can, Costco has one of the best return policies. Though it's likely the earbuds need to be returned within 90 days like other certain electronic goods.
wrong, lifetime returns for airpods, because they are not listed for the 90day returns. I have returned mine after 1.5 years ;)
Why ❓
@cauilfield: It took you that long to work it out ⁉️
You sound like a scammer , however if that's the policy .
Why tf you will do that?
Got these as I’m going os soon, timed it well.
Otherwise, would wait till Black Friday.
If I've never used Air Pod pros before, how much of a step up would the Pro 3 be over the Pro 2s? Worth the roughly $100 premium if I don't really care for the heart rate monitoring and live translation?
Probably not unless you want better sound isolation and better fit. The Pro 2s still do a good job at both.
Im hoping they drop to $300~ish then ill grab a pair. For now ill stick with my Moondrop Space Travels
Live translation is also available in the Pro 2s now as well
wow.. almost $400 for earbuds. What a time to be alive.
the problem i have with earbuds is i drop them and they roll under the bed or the machinery at work and i'm like… $400 for this shit???
get third party ear clips for them if you want them stay on with vigorous vibration, or you can get el cheapo ones with the ear clips from amazon
I don't get the hate people have for the price, this is not an essential item or an essential utility , there are plenty of cheap alternatives. If you look at all the flagship ear buds from the major consumer brands (Sony, Samsung, Bose) their earbuds are in this price range +/- $50
Agreed. In the year I purchased my AirPod Pro2 I considered them to be on of my top three product buys for the year. Love ‘em.
I think the price for the updated buds is to be expected but would likely wait for pricing to settle and grabbing on sale if I was in the market.
Seriously, why pay so much? Get the QCY's for $70, perform better.
Elaborate “better”
Surprised people complain about the price of these - I've found airpod pros to have probably the best $/use ratio of any tech (easily beating phone/laptop). Pro 1s purchased in mid ~2020. Daily use for minimum 1-2hrs (workouts) + 4-6hrs (commute/work/study/relaxing). For a while had construction on the road next to me overnight and was wearing them to bed as well for the ANC saved many many hours of sleep. The ANC on them recently broke but honestly that's ~5yrs of 6+ hours minimum use for $300, 16c/day? 3-4c/hour? - bargain. Guilty of paying full retail price on release for Pro 3s but honestly reckon it's gonna be worth it.
I agree with you. I’ve been using my first-gen AirPods Pro since launch, and aside from the crackling issue early on, which Apple replaced within six months, they’ve held up impressively. That said, I’m planning to upgrade this cycle. The ANC and battery are starting to show their age. It might be expensive, but once you break it down to $0.04 per hour, it’s pretty good! I don’t splurge often, so when I do, I want it to count.
Crazy price for earbuds. Not because they are not good, but because I constantly lose or break them.
Wow, people really paying that much for earphones these days?
Name a period of time of human history we didn’t do any thing similar ?
Apple AirPods Pro 3 $389.99 (Save $39.01)
Keep using your existing, perfectly functioning AirPods/ Earbuds/ Headphones. $00.00! (Save $389.99!!)
Apple made $100 billion in profit last year. You reckon they do that by selling products without a significantly markup?
Anyone who bought these how are they finding the comfort in the ear?
I seen some reviews say the way they get such better noise canceling is due to a more snug fit which some people may find uncomfortable?
Costco is probably the best option to buy them from since if they were uncomfortable, its an easy return but curious for other people’s thoughts?
Punctuation is important.
This is the hall where the Duke holds his balls and dances.
Thanks to OP for AirPods Pro 3 for under $40.
I've upgraded from app1 to app3 - overall its a solid upgrade. ANC is better and sounds a bit better. Most importantly the new buds design means they don't slip out of the ear over time.
Will these stay in your ear or fall out
I need cheap Airpod which i can use for calling too, what are the good options? Or should i just get usb c EarPods? I actually tried using the few lightening to usb c adapters from eBay with my existing EarPods but mic doesn’t work even through the speaker quality is great.
Any stock of iPhone 17 256GB Black at Costco in store?
