You should always price match at Sony.
Yeah I wish I did - it wasn't until after I realised it was a possibility and their ridiculous cancelled order = 10% surcharge fee stopped me
I also thought this, but when I went to order the A6400 directly even Sony had it on backorder!
I find Sony backorder info is often conservative and they usually deliver well ahead of the back order date.
Better this way for people like myself who will never purchase from them and use them to price match for other stores :) cant price match if its on back order XD
Just FYI, I've been waiting for my cashback from Sony (lens promo) since end of November 2020. I was finally given a link to enter my bank details about 1.5 weeks ago and I'm back waiting again for them to deposit into my account. Their cashback programs seems to be a bit of hit and miss.
Same boat. Took many calls and emails for them to even acknowledge that I didn't receive the cashback. Am currently waiting on delivery of the digital eftpos card
Seems like there's a change between the cashback from July last year and the ones after. Got my A7iii from the Sony online store at that time and it was within two weeks digital. Maybe a ton of people took up the cashback since but Sony don't want to assign more people to process them.
i didnot got mine 800$ cash back on 2 cameras back on august sale ;; wont never buy any item, with cashback on sony now : Canon was quick though on CANON r5

Over the years, I found that Olympus, Panasonic and Canon are fairly good with cash back claims. Sony, I’d need to constantly chasing up, even when buying directly from their company stores…

Same here. Each time I enquired, 'got a generic message: "I have raised this to our backend team to check the status of your cashback." and heard no more after that until I asked again, and still got the same message.
The call centre told me that they have no connection to the promotions team.

'In stock' on Georges website doesn't necessarily mean that it is either, I bought an a6400 on 1/2 and still haven't got it yet because apparently it was on backorder
