It is showing at $190 - is there some 'code' one must use to lower the price?

How is this device charged? A power pack (AC Charger)?

What is this http://www.pickrice.com/?p=22 link with the "?p=22" on the end? Is this an affiliate link?

It is also on the end of the link to the 'bargain' priced product…

    Another Unknown brand tablet again

      "Another Unknown brand tablet again"

Yes, but I will not Neg. I am waiting for a reply from the 'Rep' to see if this device is a legal import, and if there are 'hidden' affiliate links in this 'bargain'.

  • -3

Come on Cathlly - I can see that you are "Online Now". So why will you not reply?

    • -1

Oh dear,I'm sorry let you wait so long! ?p=22 just a Tracking Code.

      • -6

"Oh dear,I'm sorry let you wait so long! ?p=22 just a Tracking Code."

Sorry, too late. However, what do you mean "a tracking code"? The link works without this 'code'. Do you mean that it links any clicks to you?

Now what about A-Tick on the device, and Electrical Safety Certification for Australia on the AC Charger?

And, what about the price still being $179.99 ?

        • Of course! The price can be $129.99 now

        • +3

removed possible affiliate links. If they are reinserted then rep will be banned.

Please report if this is case

        • I dont think imported mobiles r tabs from other sellers like ss, kogan or dwi have a tick.
I dont see any point pushing a tick thing to this seller.
Toooooo many ques and boring thread.

      • -2

        "Of course!"

        Huh? Of course - what?

        Please reply to my questions.

Oh, and I meant to type $189.99.

        • Of Course We have the Australia on the AC Charter. We use the type $189.99 tablet to hold the group buy activity. So the price now is $129.99. I think this deal is very competitive, so I share it to you. Wish you have a good time!

        • "Of Course We have the Australia on the AC Charter."

Ok, that is great. So what is the supplier number? This is just next to, or under, the certification logo.

      • -2

"Of course! The price can be $129.99 now"

I am sure it CAN be, but how? Are you changing the price - or is there a discount code that must be used?

Also, please reply to my other questions.

        Thank you.

        • +1

I think 'novo7' is the code to use to get that $129.99 price… that seem to work for me..

          "yeah!Must use the coupon code:Novo7"

Cathlly - you are still here, still posting - BUT NOT REPLYING TO THE 'KEY' QUESTIONS.

          Why not?

          1) What do you mean "a tracking code"? The link works without this 'code'. Do you mean that it links any clicks to you? Do you get paid for any purchases and/or clicks?

          2) What about A-Tick on the device, and

          3) Electrical Safety Certification for Australia on the AC Charger?

You are still 'here'. Please answer the questions.

        • the code might not have been there originally but it has been up for a while

        • bbyboy
the code might not have been there originally but it has been up for a while

Yes, I know. It was just that, for the first few minutes, I was 'down' here in the comments on my small screen notebook. So I did not see the code added.

        • Dear,I'm come back now!

          1) What do you mean "a tracking code"? The link works without this 'code'. Do you mean that it links any clicks to you? Do you get paid for any purchases and/or clicks?
For the "tracking code" it just a code for the group buy product! It can tracking the order's source.Yeah it's my tracking number. But I'll won't get paid for any purchase.Because it's my work!

          2) What about A-Tick on the device?
For the A-Tick on the device,I'm not very clear about this. I need to ask my product staff and then can reply to you.

          3) Electrical Safety Certification for Australia on the AC Charger?
          yes, we have!

Wish you have a good time!

  • No response from so called "rep".
Illegal import with illegal and dangerous AC Charger.
    Undisclosed affiliate links.
    Not a bargain.

    • -1

What can u expect??? You want cheap imports and you wish they have all the Ausralia standard crap. What some of u asking in Ozbargain is amazing!!

  • Wow a honeycomb cheap tab…
But is there any planned update for ICS 4.0? You can get a 2.3 tab for the same money that has an ICS release planned.

    • Yes, it can update for Android 4.0.

Sick of seeing these cheap tablets.

    • +1

"Sick of seeing these cheap tablets."

Nothing wrong with lots of 'cheap' tablets.

As long as they are of good quality, are legal to import, and safe to use/charge.

  • lol, nice brand name.

  • The reviews here indicate this is no mere 'cheap tablet': http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/23/ainovos-bargain-novo-7-ic…

Note also the ARMS vs MIPS architecture differences.

    • "The reviews here indicate this is no mere 'cheap tablet':"

Perhaps, but the comments reveal a few problems and shortcomings.

        • Every deal we get to hear about this C-Tick or A-Tick stuff he always blabs on about.

          No one cares though…

        • jv's clone

I'm +ing this deal just because you are being so viciously mean to the rep and her deal.

        • +1

          I'm +ing this deal

and….. what does your + vote tell us about the deal???

          absolutely nothing…..

It's currently sold out on the ainovo.com website, but this is the tab maker that's got a lot of buzz in tech circles for not only selling the first Android 4.0 tab, but selling it for US$99 plus delivery direct from their website. Because of the introduction of a new processor type to the android tablet market they have received alot of special treatment from Google, so the full market is installed as well, which hasn't happened for many cheap Chinese tabs. Only ending up with access to 3rd party app markets is a big pitfall for the unwary. Lots of people caught out on group buying sites lately.
Along with the low screen res, the big downside that presumably applies to the tab being sold here is weight. 580 grams - so it's a 7 inch tab that weighs as much as an iPad.

  • Is this the model that's getting ICS?

  • It has the same processor, so reasonable chance, but it all depends on the company and their motivations. Samsung has just announced in the last couple of days that their not going to offer an update to ICS for owners of the original 7" Galaxy tab - not because the processor isn't up to it - but because it's going to be to much of a hassle to get it to work with their Touchwiz UI.

After reading reviews and dong some googling, I think I might get one. Google are supporting it, and it's not an 'illegal import' and it's not some cheap chinese tablet either. I'm after a cheap tablet for occasional web browsing so this looks pretty good.

  • any 3g versions?

  • Pretty good. Hopefully those who buy it can customise the rom.

  • Interesting specs.

  • Great deal for $130!
For those who didn't get the ZTE MyTab for $99, this is (in my opinion) a better deal - more features for your money.

  • This "toy" can be bought at $99 with Android 4.

    www.china-tablet-computer.com/ainol-novo7-paladin-android-4-0-ice-cream-sandwich-tablet-pc-8gb-$99—8190.htm

    • That's the Paladin version, they removed the Camera and SD slot to make it cheaper.

      • "GPS None"

Unfortunately, thats a deal breaker for me on this deal, otherwise I'd still have concerns about MIPS v ARM, processor/application compatibility.

$300-$200 is probably a more realistic budget point for these larger screen devices (compared against phones).

        • If you need GPS Function, I highly suggest this one(Android 2.3 LENOVO LePad) .It's more functional and the price also very competitive. If you like it I also can try my best to apply the Coupon Code to you! Wish you have a good time.

The integrity of www.pickrice.com is highly questionable. Given the Chinese's track records, better exercise caution.

Other than the two identical dates of the review and pros/cons, the 2 reviews for this tablet has been plagiarised from an eBay site:

    Reviewer manarry: http://www.ebay.com/ctg/ViewSonic-gTablet-16GB-Wi-Fi-10-1in-…

    Reviewer lanli: http://www.ebay.com/ctg/ViewSonic-gTablet-16GB-Wi-Fi-10-1in-…

  • Also the one with the $99 is the Basic version … Stay away from that !

  • So which one is this?
Specs seem similar to the Novo7 Advanced but this has Honeycomb while the Advanmced has Gingerbread.
    Is that the only difference?

Also does this have the remote control like the Novo7 Advanced?

    Edit:
some more research on the web indicates that this is the 'Basic' model,
and the main diffrence in hardware is different chipsets.
the 'Advanced' seems to have better community support with varous firmware and even a Beta ICS firmware.

The 'Advanced' is out on stock but there is an 'Advanced 2' expected soon, don't have info about the 'Advanced 2'

given this info and unless I hear otherwise I think I will look for an 'Advanced' or wait for the 'Advanced 2'

  • Random irrelevant question for the OP, but whom in your marketing department came up with Pick Rice as your company name. It's a terrible name for what seems a mostly gadget/electronics store. It'd be akin to calling a Car wash, Yummy Cabbage…or something??

    • Oh dear you are so humorous. To be honest, I also don't why called Pick Rice …But maybe I guess it can easy remember!Just my opinion…Have a nice time!

  • +1

I have the Novo7 advanced (which is NOT this model) and runs Gingerbread. I decided on it after reading some whirlpool forums.
I would have to say that the Novo7 advanced is a very impressive device for the price. The screen is so-so (but I paid $150 delivered), and there seems to be an active group of people trying to mod roms.

Having said all that, most people seem to say to steer clear of the Novo7 Basic (which I believe this model is) even though it runs Honeycomb. Most complaints appear to be around the speed and ARM vs MIPS compatibility.
They are on the verge of releasing a whole slew of new tablets with MIPS processors running ICS and at a great cheap price (supposedly), but this is also (supposedly) with the backing of the MIPS hardware vendor with some marketing behind it to establish it as a viable chip alternative.

From what I've read, its a nice device, but don't expect it to be anywhere near trouble free with apps etc etc.
You can have a look at these forums for a bit more info:
    http://tabletrepublic.com/forum/ainol-novo7/

    (and a link to the Novo7 advanced http://www.slatedroid.com/forum/258-ainol-novo-7-advanced/ )

  • Well I did end up ordering one, but I got an email today saying that it would be refunded in 24 hours because it wasn't updating in their paypal account or something. Seems a bit weird considering I already got an email saying payment was successful. Oh well.

  • Just tested the checkout and coupon, but coupon code is not accepted?
PS: I won't go ahead with actual purchase if this is not the 'advanced model', can you please give us some more info on that? if this is the basic version, it's not a bargain at all, as it can be had for 99.- elsewehere?

    • Yeah! I know one group buy price is $99.99,but they didn't add the postage. When they add the postage it's more than our price! Our product is Free Shipping."Advanced model"was stop production because it have some problems. Also there have another model is coming:"knight model"—Novo7 Android 4.0
