    • for you or your kids?

      • Ummm…the kids?!

I'm in 2 minds with Lego Mario. I don't have any desire to play with it right now, but it's so damn cool and I know that it wont be around forever.

Same here. The collector in me must have it…(but not for RRP)

I’ve got a number of sets including the end level bowser set, opened and built them up. I can say they get old pretty quick for adults and little kids DESTROY them lol

But same can by said with most Lego sets I guess

Lol, just tell them you'll build it for them once then they're on their own.

    • my kids loves it… I find it super lame and pointless

      • only the limit of imagination makes lego mario lame and pointless
for me, i found it's super enjoy and certainly can be built in a display piece style

    Also:
    * Guarded Fortress $45 (matching Kmart)
    * Bowser's Castle is $103 (Kmart still $129)

  • +1

These are getting pretty cheap, so I'll just say, it would be a trivial modification to buy two Pokey sets and make a super Pokey. It's also one of my favs sets.

Bill Barrage and Power Slide are bad.

Guarded Fortress is good. Bowsers Castle is great but comes wit the price tag.

    • Sweet idea!

I highly recommend LEGO Mario for the kids. My son is 7 and he loves it. He loves building them, and then adding them to his course he has set up on a MASSIVE table we dedicated for him. He spends time remaking the course every so often and doing his own thing outside of the instructions. He especially loves the mini figures and finds ways to remake them and combine them in different ways and creating his own narrative.

As an Adult I like models to be models and be build exactly the way it’s suppose to be and then left as is, but these Mario sets are not meant for that kind of LEGO fan. They are meant for imagination and customisation.

At best for a collector like me, the mini figures are the way to go. Just build and display them. My vice is Speed Champions. :p

You and your son are like the epitome of The Lego Movie people ;)

That is exactly what my wife said when we watched the movie. 😅

    • I hear ya buddy. The one reason I still haven't opened up 10 boxes is I don't want the kids to ruin it.

Yeah I've built some with my 7yo and I keep looking at the instructions like.. hmm… So how do these things go together? But they don't go together, they just tell you how to build the traps and features and then go "alright, now throw them together with whatever's left in the box" lol

    • I however believes these lego mario are fantastic for adults to create super mario world out of their childhood. I enjoyed it, and my baby enjoyed playing my display castle too.

i strongly recommend lego mario sets for both kids and adults
kids can build from original lego sets
adults can build in a display style
you can have a look of what i have done with the sets in a modular style, its designed to be able to keep adding and stacking the layers when lego releases more sets.
