Good product to start over with your car care. Follow up with a clay bar.

Also available from Amazon

Your vehicle is under constant attack from airborne contaminants. Many of these are tiny particles of iron that appear as specks on paintwork and brake dust on wheels, dulling their shine. The active ingredients in Autoglym Magma turn magenta as they react with these iron particles to safely loosen them from the surface to be easily rinsed away.

great stuff… it's incredible what comes off your car after you've washed it. Foam, two-bucket, this, then a clay-bar, and you've got a great prep surface to polish and wax.

    • …youve got a lot of time on your hands

:) I only do it every 6 months or so. I set aside one day to do it all.
In between is just a foam/two-bucket wash, and sometimes a finish of Polar Seal

        • ive only ever clay barred our suby wagon once….
loved the end result but took so loooong with all the steps involved :)

@franco cozzo: yeah clay-bar can take a while; I have an Outlander currently, and on a big car it's a bit of effort. Hardest part for both this Magma and for the clay-bar lubrication for me is actually the spray, your hands get tired from squeezing the trigger so much!

            • @beatsntoons: Perhaps you're using too much? You can keep a 15-20cm distance and lightly mist the entire panel. The bonnet wouldn't take more than 10-12 sprays. But a big car, you need to swap hands I guess!

@lordra: Yeah it’s just a big car. Usually fine when I do it on a small car like a Yaris
And I just must have weak hands :)

  • This seems like an overkill?

      Try using it :)
You have so much junk in the paintwork, this stuff removes a lot of the small pieces of iron that washing alone doesn't touch.
First time I used it, my bonnet nearly turned purple there was so much there.
Subsequent uses have show flecks, but not as many as that first time.

    • It's worth it though. Plenty of detailers on YouTube if you want to see why they do it, there's lots to learn and it isn't for everyone.
