Makita 300mm 2x18v chainsaw skin - DUC302Z.

Found wandering my local Bunnings, so unsure how long the deal lasts.

  • Anyone used an Ozito chainsaw? I am currently in the Ozito ecosystem and do require a chainsaw

    • +1

I have the Ozito single battery model. It's good for what it is. Will cut blanches the thickness of your wrist but don't expect it to cut logs or trees.
Used more for tree trimming than tree cutting.

BUT DON'T GET the grey model. It doesn't support the standard Ozito X-Power batteries

  • These are down from what prices?

  • +1

Not worth it. I have this chainsaw and it is weak as. You would be better off with the brushless DUC254Z for slightly cheaper: https://www.bunnings.com.au/makita-18v-250mm-bar-cordless-ch…

Otherwise, go for the 18Vx2 brushless DUC355Z for rear handle or DUC306Z for top handle, both are more expensive though.

    • I just invested in the Makita battery ecosystem with a trimmer and hedger. Curious as to why the smaller one with ?1 battery would be stronger?

      • +1

It uses a brushless motor and runs at a much higher RPM. Great for a light duty chainsaw.

Similarly, the brushless Makita line trimmer is a great tool as it runs at high RPM and doesn't drain the battery quickly.

        • thanks for that info. yeah i think i got the brushless trimmer. very happy with it.

    • Yes i have the DUC355Z and love it, it's on par with my Stihl MS 170 in terms of cutting capability, size, weight etc. It's a great saw, the Stihl has gathered dust since getting it.

It seems the whole Makita range at bunnings above $250 has dropped in price a similar amount to sydney tools Makita roadshow credit prices. If thats the case then the road show ends today so i expect these prices at bunnings to also end today

    • +1

The end date on the tickets in my Bunnings said 7/3/21, so I updated the deal accordingly.

      • Thanks, good it runs that long, some of these Makita prices are the best I've seen in some time

  • shame they don't have stock of the line trimmer I am looking for

  • Makita batteries are also down 246 for two 5 amp batteries. I got one today no stock in lidcombe go to rydalmere low stock about 4 when I left
