Sharp LC40L650X 40" Full HD LCD TV - $495 + Shipping

90

Great price i reckon for 100 Hz tv plus having 3 years warranty.

Shipping doesn't seem that pricey.
To Melbourne i think it was $14 bucks but to Sydney it was $34 bucks.

I think it ends soon so don't think about it too much.

  • I don't know what the model number was but Retravision had a sale on Boxing day with a Sharp 40inch LCD 100Hz TV for $395. They didn't have any left when I went there but said that they might be able to order more in the days following.

    • I am sure it is $495 as it was in their current catalogue and on their website http://www.retravision.com.au/products/291/Sharp/LC40L650X/S…

      • I have a screen dump of their website on Boxing day as I wanted to buy one and it was $396 (I just checked). Marked "Deal of the Decade, Full HD LCD 3yr Warranty Sharp Aquos 40 inch, $396". The sales guy at Joondalup (Perth) said they only had 30 and all were gone by midday when I got there.

        • LC-40L550X or LC-40L650X ?

        • like I said in the first post I don't know what model number, advert didn't say.

  • And I had just bought this awesome tv from JB for $510. Seeing as it was quite a rare tv to find in any stores (neither dicksmith, harvey norman or most of the JBHIFIs had it), as it is a discontinued model they were not getting in more stock. The picture quality is phenomenal, it plays MKVs, and alot of the video formats from usb smoothy and very clearly. And its power consumption isn't too bad for its size and being lcd. And, its speakers DONOT sound tinny, they sound like/better than them normal sony crt ones. =) And as for my dreadful experience with retravision's customer service before I would not even think of buying anything from them ever again! (Just in case my TV dies suddenly, the sales person would possibly not even think of taking it back even within warranty period)—whereas for JB, I once bought a portable dvd player, had 2 dead/stuck pixels, bought it back to them 2 days later for exchange, and they said YES! and were more than happy to.

  • Here is the manual for this model:
    http://support.sharp.net.au/downloads/opmanuals/LC32L450X-LC…

Says it will play H.264 MKV, AVI & XVid files from a FAT32 or NTFS formatted USB drive.

    Power Consumption: 174 W (0.8 W Standby)

The optional (not included) wall mount bracket model is: AN-52AG4

I just bought the LG 42LW5700 from Good Guys as posted in the other Ozbargain thread. I think this is a better deal if you don't mind the "older technology" LCD instead of the newer LED LCD panel, plus you don't want 3D picture.

    • Looks like the older tech uses a lot more power. 174W seems pretty high considering the larger Sharp LC46LE830X uses only 130W. Still a nice price especially if you were lucky enough to get it at $396.

Myer are selling the Samsung UA40D5000 for $599. Probably a better deal than this, if you can afford the extra $100. I do like the quality of Sharp panels.

The UA40D5000 is $598 at JB too

Though the Samsung is LED backlit & has the 'wi-fi' media sharing feature, how does its image compare with the Sharp LC40L650X ?

Sharp 3yr wty Ssung 1yr to start with.

      • how can u buy UA40D5000 for $598?

        • When I posted that the JB site had '$598' for the UA40D5000.
JB Hi-Fi changed their web site to have it as '$898' now.

        • it was one of JB's boxing day specials.. I picked one up in store, only sh1t thing is it is only 50hz but is advertised as Samsung's 100 clear motion rating.. still a good tv though imo

  • stocks are gone.
