But you know, when I look at these contestants, ahhh, for the miss black awareness pageant, ahhh, I feel gooooood, i feel good, coz I know there's a god, somewhere, there's a god, somewhere.

Also, I'm bloody stoked as I have a trial until 13th March!!!

        • +9

i'm so glad this is coming out soon, because my royal penis was getting rather dirty again.

  • +1

Never seen original one but trailer for this one looks good. I’ll watch both , thanks OP.

    • +23

I didn't think there was anyone who hadn't seen the original =) But yes, definitely watch that

    • +14

Original one is a classic comedy.

    • +25

      Please watch "Trading Places" FIRST.

      It'll make a certain "moment" more enjoyable .. =)

  • -7

Why post this now? It's not even out yet? And it was known a while ago that it was coming to Prime Videos.

    • +7

Presumably to be first in line

      • +17

:). I had no idea until today it would be on prime.

Also only watched the first recently after some references to it right here on ozbargain so thought there would be some fans who'd want to know

    • +14

I'm glad it's posted. I didn't know the exact date, but now I do. Will time it with some Amazon purchases for resubscribing to Prime.

For the youngsters that haven't seen (or even heard of) this movie before, it is a classic! Eddie Murphy in his pre-Klumps days when he was at his peak as a comedic actor (he later became a good actor actor). Other great Eddie 80's movies: Trading Places, Beverly Hills Cop (1 & 2, but 3 isn't so good), 48 hours.

It’s a brilliant post!!! Seriously, I know it’s OzB, but why do ppl whinge so much.

Look for reasons to smile, instead of reasons to poo-poo!!

      Watch your Soul-Glo!!!!

Yup, people are actually allowed to post this one by one

      Any takers?

        Just wow wow.

People who post here in spite of what they see as garbage posts must be extraordinarily hard up for other social media outlets.

Don't like it, block this or any other deals.

    Sexual chocolate.

    • Nah! … that's the soft centred Lindt Lindor chocolate balls.

  • +9

Coming to America is probably Eddie Murphy's finest movie. I really hope the sequel 33 years later is at least half decent.

    • +7

Trading Places and Beverly Hill Cop for me, but I think most people would agree with you. All classics. I'm a little doubtful for the sequel, but I'll still watch it anyway. I think half of the original would've been banned for not being politically correct.

    • +1

Yup! Hopefully not like the sequel to Bill & Ted…

    • +3

Ahh - no votes for the Golden Child? :)

  • +7

This movie was originally supposed to go to theatres and I would have gladly paid to see it. This is a bargain for me personally.

  • +1

  • -1

    Really? Fishing for likes!!

  • +4

Not going to neg this as I have the option to block these types of ‘deals’, but c’mon now… if I started spamming all the movies coming out on to every streaming service one by one I would almost certainly be stopped. Who’s game?

    • +11

i posted a new song on a streaming service and mods removed it within 20 minutes then temp banned me lol

      • Yes, you certainly were not 💩 posting at all with your Justin Bieber deal post.

        • +15

i dont see how my sub deal is different to this sub deal but ok. subjectivity is important i guess

          • +1

@belongsinforums: Cool good to know the site has some grey area discretion to remove crap :)

          • @belongsinforums: How convenient, you can't downvote a mods comment.

            • +6

@Trishool: Feel free to downvote this comment.

              • +2

@neil: No thanks, it's not the same without the Mod label.

      • +1

I would have upvoted this post… He's a superstar… Wowow. Guess Spotify doesn't fall under the sub meaning they have here ;)

      • -1

Lol. I guess you picked the wrong artist. I wonder what would happen if I posted an upcoming B-grade movie. Zero consistency.

  • Anyone who negs this deal is sweat from a baboon's balls.

    • +2

Surely you mean a diseased rhinoceros pizzle?

  • +1

He's not mentioned in the cast list but I hope Samuel L Jackson makes another cameo.

  • +1

Was so excited for this til I saw trailer 2..
Got a lot less hope for this being a turnaround for Eddie's comedy movies..

  • I was about to cancel my prime membership, but I waited JUST BECAUSE of this.

  • +4

I would like to thank Georgekutty movie poster for the fresh flood of upcoming movies on Ozbargain.

    • +1

      Coming to Kerala starring Georgekutty

  • +7

It's PG13, so I reckon this movie will be a dud compared to the original

    • That's disappointing to hear, I wasn't expecting much to begin with tbh, the original has a lot of charm that I'm not sure they can replicate. Hope to be proven wrong!

  • +4

Thanks, looking forward to this, hope it’s not woke.

  • +1

When I first looked I thought the post was about the original 80s film and was wondering why this was a deal. I didn't realize the royalty cheques for Mufassa and Akeem were drying up :P

  • +3

Oops must have accidentally logged on to oztvguide.com.au

  • My hopes drop with every new trailer, Coming to Africa….. Dolemite was pretty good though.

  • Whilst I am a big fan of the original, the classification (PG-13) of this movie suggests that some of the jokes from the first (R rated) one aren't going to be easy to replicate in the new movie… but we live in hope.

    • +1

The royal penis wont be cleaned this time

  • +1

So will it actually be out on March 5th, Australia time? Or do we have to wait until some sort of American equivalent?

  • King Jaffe Joffer: Son, I know we never talked about this. I always assumed you had sex with your bathers. I know I do.

    ….lol

  • +2

So this movie will only be released on Amazon Prime Video, and the only price of this movie is no price, except you have to have paid for Amazon Prime, of which there is no discount currently, so just pay the regular price for that. But then you will be able to watch the movie! Free! For everyone who paid for it! Wow what a BARGAIN.

    • +1

It's really sad that the mod's here like Neil need to censor all the user neg's and label any criticism of garbage submissions like this being allowed as "toxic".

This site has really become a shadow of it's former self.

Stuff like this is in no way shape or form a bargain & has no business being listed here. It's even debatable if it's worth existing as a forum post.

      • +2

As they said, just change your settings to hide the deals if you don't like them.

Or create your own bargain website and set your own rules

      • +2

shadow of its former self? you've been whinging about deals that don't suit you since 2013 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/122880

It might surprise you to know that your yardstick definition of a deal is not what this COMMUNITY is obliged to accept. At least 300 people seem to agree that this is a deal/bargain/ or of benefit to them.

E.g. there was a similar deal recently about a foreign film on Prime, didnt interest me, but hey guess what? I didnt resort to calling it a "garbage submission", its not to others, so I moved on. Suggest you do the same.

        • I love people who research history of others = nothing constructive to do with their time .
Why don't we do some analytics of negs ratios of subs vs other deals and you will find out how much pollution these are to the true bargain hunters ?

          • +1

@popsiee: That sounds like a constructive use of time for you

            • @scar4ace: Haven't you had enough time for my summary yet lol :)

          • @popsiee: If we were allowed to neg the subs deals then I bet you would find exactly what you're looking for. Unfortunately there is no way to show your criticism other than comments, which are then allowed to be negged into oblivion by the people that have to rely on a bargain website to be alerted to their subscription services getting new content. It's a beautiful system.

            • @wendellX: I think the bargain or deal here is the added value of the Amazon prime subscription receiving theatre release movies straight on to streaming for movies which normally wouldn't (Borat sequel, this). These are subjectively A-grade Hollywood films that people would normally have to pay at the cinema to watch at release.
Also you can't get a free trial to the cinema. You can for prime.
Disney+ charged for Mulan, prime could have too.

              • -1

@scar4ace: I'm going to buy 10 of your great deal and make some serious dough from your bargain . I use to have 12 Prime Amazon ac's but cut down to 2 because they changed the rules on limits to per person not ac's . I'll fire up another 8 ac's to Prime because AMZ don't mind how many Prime video ac's a person has lol .

              • +1

@scar4ace: If Coming 2 America is showing in a theater then I'll eat my words, although I don't agree that a theatre experience and home cinema have equal value. I don't see any deal here because the base price for it has already been set at having one Prime subscription and there is no other possible cost for it because there is no theatrical release - it's direct-to-VOD. If the bargain is that some people can still get a free trial, then the bargain isn't just this movie, it's literally every movie on Amazon Prime is "free". Songs used to cost $1-$2 when we bought them on CDs or iTunes, but every A-grade song that is available on YouTube or Spotify does not equal it's own bargain.

Everything is a bargain when we play make believe that an item could have released at higher price, therefore the actual, everyday price is a bargain.

                • -1

@wendellX: This film WAS originally scheduled for a theatrical release. i.e. additional $s. Now its not. Deal - at least for many on Prime.

Your opinions on whether subs content constitute deals have been raised before. The mods have given you a way out, so just block these deals, everyones happy.

      • I don't care about these subs posts but censoring the negs is straight up BS.

  • PG version of Coming To America?

    Yeah nah.
