  I think anything that is built / hardwired into your home at great expense should be from a decent brand.

  Typing this from a crappy Dell keyboard I scavenged somewhere after the "w", "2", "3" and "4" keys of my Kogan mechanical keyboard spontaneously started failing today. Thankfully my keyboard is not built into the building.

      The Kogan units are OEMed by Midea / GMCC while the Hyundai branded units are OEMed by TCL - both are imported and distributed by Kogan.

      TCL is also the OEM for Euromatic (split system), AKAI and Stirling.
      Midea / GMCC is the OEM for Carrier and Kelvinator.

    Depends who "you" is :-)
    From accounts here, it's not that hard to do a better job than half the "professional" installers out there, e.g. sparkies with a limited ARCtick license.

    But you do need a vacuum pump and some plumbing skills, as well as it being hard-wired. You can buy an install kit with pre-flared pipes, which helps. You need to be absolutely sure there are no leaks before releasing the gas inside.
    Watching an overseas DIY youtube video might put you off.
