Please be careful. Shopback is not trustable anymore. Few days ago there was 25% cashback promotion for watches. They just gave 6% and not answering the emails. This is clearly a fraud.

    • Why no neg vote? I agree, i do not trust them to track my purchases.

      • He posted that message in other post too.

    • I did have an issue with Shopback 2 weeks ago with the 15% deal for Dan Murphy's Under Wraps wine. I bought some and was given the standard 4% almost immediately.

It took about emails (which were answered quite promptly) to sort it out. The rep said that they had to query with Dan Murphys, so I called BS - it had nothing to do with DM. The invoice clearly said Under Wraps and the Shopback system applied the standard 4% wine cashback. When I pushed the point he backed down and credited my account with the correct amount.

Was this a deliberate dodgy or a genuine error - I will never know ?

But they did respond to emails and did sort it out correctly, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt that it was a genuine system error.

I have had a number of high cashbacks from DM, LL, FCL & BWS (from both Shopback & Cashrewards) recently and all of them except the Under Wraps one tracked promptly and correctly, so it may be an exaggeration to suggest that "all" of them are dodgy.

    • You know nothing Jon Snow…I’ve already got it tracked in my account!!!!

I had no issue tracking 4 x 20% liquor cashbacks in different periods. I have actually never had issues with shopback except for when I make a mistake.

I suspect most of the “didn’t track” is due to user error.

I use my clear of extensions and rarely used Edge browser for my shopbacks/cashrewards and have never had an issue with tracking.

    • Perhaps they should make it more "user error"-proof?

Because it seems to be a part of their business model/their offering to the partners. Like: "hey, we also measured that 10-30% of our users try to buy via our link, but sometimes it doesn't register properly, so we can't prove it's our traffic, so that'd be your extra gain, Store X!"

      • All cashback businesses operate this way, so perhaps the only solution is to vote with your feet and stop using any of them.

I've personally had only one issue with either cashrewards or shopback, and that was because the shop site opened a new window for payment.

          As somebody told me before:

Don't assume you'll get the cashback, treat it as a bonus.

Hence my shopping decisions are no longer based on the risky Shopback offers. Espescially if you can get the same booze cheaper at Dan Murphy.

this should automatically stack with $2 on $5 spend bonus (assuming you activated the $2 bonus)

    • Good one. I'll update the post

    • Buy $5 wine, get $2 + $1 back. Only $2 bottle
      Is it true?

  • +1

Yeah this never tracks properly. Always the generic excuse email where they try and blame you.

  • How long is it usually to see these track? Purchased but nothing has been sent through yet or visible in the app.

    • +1

I ordered at 1.15pm, tracking email received at 7.55pm.
$2 bonus mobile app notification received a few hours earlier, but not yet showing in tracking activity list via web.
(never had a problem with tracking, using clean Edge browser with no extensions/add-ons, always log into FCL and add items to cart, then close page, re-enter via SB and complete purchase…. in fact I generally use this method for all stores, except Amazon where it is specified that this approach cannot be used)

      • Thanks mate. Yeah, I'd never had an issue before (I only use the app) but didn't get any confirmation at all for a while. It's come through now.

If you do decide to try and use Shopback, check to make sure it's tracked. You shouldn't have to, but don't expect it to track properly.

Most of my ShopBack trackS so did a big order to make use of the last big bonus 20% Flash deal. It didn’t track so will not chance it again on first choice liquor flash deals. Others maybe just not trusting this particular one

Yep same here, for 3 times in a row Shopback failed me on these Liquorland or FirstChoice cashback deals. the last time they made an excuse blaming me again despite using the phone app , i just went and return the whisky i bought and move on to never use Shopback anymore.
