  • Do you have the link to full catalogue ?

  • Anyone know how Katoomba compares to Kawan roti paratha?

I found Kawan to be consistently better compared to the other brands at Coles, Aldi and Asian grocers.

    • +4

In my opinion, this is one of the best brands. Didn't know it was 11 at Costco, i usually get it at 14 or $15. Time to get to Costco.

    • +1

I would prefer kawan over Katoomba. Deep paratha (triangle) is best.

  • These are great but not sure how they compare to other frozen ones. Made in Singapore.

  • +6

Please it is not a healthy option, instead watch this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71X4YKuhOU0

    • I dont know who negged you. I used to eat Katoomba Roti Parantha and had high Cholesterol (high in saturated fat). Not anymore.

      • +3

Everything needs to be enjoyed in moderation. Don't go ballistic over these and your cholesterol will be fine.

    • +1

Nice video if one is able to do hard work. Lazy pricks will neg you.
The same process can be done via a kitchen aid mixer.

      Healthy options are rarely tasty.

    • +1

Yes!! I learned to make them myself about a year ago and haven’t bothered to buy them since. Super simple and much cheaper to make!

      • How about Rotimatic?

        • high entry cost and poor / no local support

  • +2

As far as I know, isn’t calling it roti prantha like calling a drink coffee tea?

    • Well said. Let's try beer whiskey.

    • Yes amongst all the chai tea and naan bread.

      • Chai and tea are at least synonyms (and so can be naan and bread) but roti and paratha are different products all together.

        • As an Indian the infuriation is the same regardless of the semantics

  • +1

Is this cheaper than the same ones at Coles few months ago? Was half price back then

    $4.50 20 pack x 3 = $13.5

I guess Coles was still the cheapest

    $8.50 30 pack x2 = $17

    Both for 60 pieces

However have not seen Coles doing promo much

    • +1

Good maths! But kinda pointless when Coles aren't running the promos as much. Luckily for me, I have 20 packs of Kawan paratha, so it should last me for at least 8 months. Hopefully in that time Coles runs the promo again.

      • Costco also sells Kawan Paratha? What do those taste like?

        • +1

Costco only sells the Katoomba. I stocked up on Kawan from Coles when they were on special.

I find Kawan to be the best tasting to me. My preferred method of cooking is to have the iron skillet going whilst I am eating, therefore I always have a fresh piping hot piece ready to dip into a big pot of chicken curry (or fish curry). If I'm having this for breakfast, I can demolish about 8 pieces.

    • You need to wait until next Diwali for 50% off 😁

  • Also on special this week is the 18pk Stonefire Naan bread. Seriously good and a regular favourite in our house.

    • +1

I have updated the post. In lockdown I learnt how to make nan, so I don't buy this anymore.

    • Haven't tried it what is Naan bread

      • if you like indopak cuisine, you will love naan bread. Garlic Naan are the best!

      • It is bread. It is yum. Peshwari naan is my fav but garlic is what most people like imo.

  • +1

20 pack available at Coles this week for $7 (was $9) if you don't have Costco membership. Packaging looks different so don't know if it's the same product.

    • Difference of $4 on 60 PC's isn't bad consider membership and driving. It's the same product

  • -4

What's better between Katoomba or Mt Druitt Rotis?

  • Good price but membership requires

    • +1

That's what it says in the title.

  • Amazed as no one mentioned iTunes card to be 16% off (in $50 denominations) while being in same catalogue.

  • gahhh…. bought the prawn wonton noodles yesterday…

Community service message: - Don't get the XO Pippies… very salty and sweet…

    • gahhh…. bought the prawn wonton noodles yesterday…

You can get the difference refunded.

      • not worth the 20-30 min drive…. :(

        but thanks!

        • You got 30 days… So if you happen to swing past Costco, you can definitely stop by.

  • Can you tell me how to find/download this Costco catalogue each fortnight?

    • It's on the website under Warehouse savings.

      • Perfect. Never really looked before but wife wants to keep up to date with costco stuff so this will keep her happy knowing this!!

  • I got Katoomba samosas thinking it's a brand from the blue mountains, only to find that they were made in China! Prefer local made edibles

    • Haldiram all the way for scomosas.

  • Is that Led desk lamp good??

    • Looks pretty good. If you don't like, you can always return it.

      • Thinking it might be better than taotronics one
