Joseph Joseph Helix Potato Ricer $23 + $5 Delivery (Free for eBay Plus Members) @ Peter's of Kensington eBay

150

Ok nothing extremely exciting, but it’s the cheapest price I could find on a well rated brand’s item (compared to other potato ricers on Amazon) and this isn’t the kind thing you want falling apart when you use it.

I’ve got a plus membership so it was $23 total on checkout, regular members need to pay $5 for shipping.

NB amazon US was also fairly cheap at $26.62 but you’ll be waiting longer for it.

  • I'm considering getting one but the holes don't look that small so i guess the potato won't be as smooth as other ricers with smaller holes?

  • Hi all,
I was going to buy a potato ricer but instead decided to simply try using the shredding function on my food processor rather than buying another tool.

Anyone have experience trying the above?
I will report back after I next try making gnocchi

    • It might work, however the action required is to extrude the potato through the fine holes rather than just shred it…
most likely you’ll get nicer, longer strands for hash browning with the dedicated tool…
      That’s just an educated guess

    • Would be interested to know. You mean a shredder disc?

    • I think you'll certainly over-work the potatoes compared to using a ricer. Whether that effects the end product i'd be interested to know as well.

It's also $23.95 with free shipping for First members (via their credit card, for example) at Kogan.

sigh - if only I could be bothered cooking. I think I'll just buy my gnocchi from the supermarket.
