I always go Seasonic. They have worked for me.

Focus Plus Gold 650W goes for around $120 - overkill for that GPU, but gives you some wiggle room.

Also bump that motherboard up to a B450 if you havent already got it.

  • https://www.ple.com.au/Products/635785/Cooler-Master-MWE-450… will do you as good as these $100-150 power supplies for a bang for buck option, i bought one when it was on sale for $49 and it's more than enough for my i5 4570, 16gb ram and 1060

most people overspend on power supplies and buy 650/750w when they don't need any more than 450/550w for their low-end or mid-range builds, i did this with my first build as well and it was a bit of a waste of money that i could have put towards something else

SilverStone Essential Gold 550W for $89 seems pretty good. Save an extra $3 if you don't need v1.2 (1.2 comes with an extra 8-pin EPS12V)

    • Those SilverStone 550W PSUs are suitable but there will be unused excess cables to cable manage. Modular and semi-modular PSUs are not much more.

For $40-50 I can live with some extra cables coiled up inside a box I never open ;)

Saves time 3 years down the track when you want to add more storage and have lost the spare cables too!

But yes, if you care about keeping your cables super neat that's a good point.

        • Not even to clean the dust bunnies?

Yeah depends on your case. Sometimes the excess cables can be a tight fit.

@Twix: I have a case with removable (to wash) filter on the air intake fan, it's pretty good at keeping the insides clean - highly recommend!

@abb: Case filters are great. Check your CPU cooler fan, case fans and PSU fan as that's where the dust likes to build up.

This is a great option if you are planning to upgrade your PC in the near future.
