  • Semi synthetic for those that care

  • It what comes up on supercheap as recommended for my car. Is there a better option that is fully synthetic? 2007 Rav4.

    • I'd suggest going with Toyota's recommendation, though at that age and higher KMs might need something a bit thicker.

      • Probably best to for OP to check guidelines just because the car is old doesn't necessarily mean high km's :) Also this is good stuff I use it on my 280km 2007 corrola, dads a mechanic and I've always liked cars and do my own servicing for the past 4 years and can attest that this oil is seriously decent stuff and even better when 50% off. Just my 2 cents.

My Rav is just about to click over 200k. I have been using this oil since doing my own servicing as it was the oil specified on supercheap's garage for my car. I have no problems with it, but always open to other's thoughts on what is better/best and why.

  • Thanks OP, I see the Castrol edge 0W-40 is $63.00, great price. Just paid $89.99 at Supercheap last week.

Damn, who pays $44 for oil? Just use mineral oil…. $20 at kmart…or $10 if you can find some place doing them on sales…

Thanks OP - they also have Castrol RX Diesel 15w-40 at $89 for a 20l drum which is more my flavour, all those extra dinosaurs are delicious
