Everyone has different motivations but in my case my PS4 was aging, and it didn't make much sense to buy a PS4 Pro when the PS5 can do all the pro can do and more. And coming from an OG PS4, the improvement is significant - and totally worth it!
True I'm totally good with my PS4 Pro I don't even have much time to play it so it's not worth it for me
If I was a teenager or uni student probably.
But once you have a career, full time job, kids family investment. Spending time on gaming it's getting lesser
I have all of those… And a PS5! What I don't have is a lot of sleep! Haha

Yep. I stopped playing PS4 games 2yrs ago because of performance but wasn't gonna get a Pro.
Now I've got 2yrs of backlog while I wait for PS5 games to get made. Plus there's still new PS4 games coming out in the mean time I want to play in the best possible way, actually pretty excited about Soulstorm and it's gonna be free* for PS5 owners. Sony's making some concessions for the drought of actual PS5 games and well, I'll take it, suits me just fine.

Price drop is a year minimum after they are widely available, with all the scalpers its really hard to judge how many consoles are getting sold to people who are going to use it and how many are trying to sell it for a profit.
I always wondered if I ever got lucky enough to see one of these in stock if i should just buy one on the spot…but then I'd have to also pay a dude to pretend to be a telstra technician to pretend to install a new router….

PS5 games are more expensive than PS4 and won't be getting discounted as much as the disk version of the same game. If you don't mind paying extra per game to get a cheaper console or you are happy to wait longer for game prices to drop then you are fine
Depends on your game budget and how many friends or family friends you have (obviously, there is no family sharing support but…).
Officially OZB answer: you probably will regret it as there will be some OZB deals which are disc version of the games.
But then again, you could reduce your pile of shame because you are more likely to buy only games you really want to play.
Sigh.

Edit: Just realised search alerts are delayed up to 30 minutes so best just to check OzBargain live page for new posts when you are able rather than rely on notifications. Also subscribe to comments in previous deal posts in the case of them coming back in stock someone will usually comment. That includes this post.
