  • Currently building a new home. Any issues with going digital? Being only deadbolt, I assume you still need to turn the handle to access the front door?

You could put a solid handle without a latch.

      • Basically what we're aiming to do. Pull bar, roller latches, and electronic door lock. No need for a handle to turn.

        • I have this with the electronic lock, good set up as its either locked or not and cant lock yourself out.

      • Great idea. Thanks

I have this lock with solid handle and a magnetic catch. This setup works really well.

Main drawback is it’s not a double deadlock so if you have a window near lock you could smash it and just turn latch on inside.

This looks better and cheaper.. but not as convenient as going to bunnings.

  • I think it is national wide

  • How and who can install these digital lock?

These are DIY if you have a hole saw. Might be able to fit into an existing one if the hole distance lines up with Samsung's requirements.

    • You can DIY it, it fits over existing holes.
I fitted this same one to my place

  • Would a Numpad that scrambles the numbers each time be better?

      Something like this?

I had replace this lock with a SHP-DP609 which has inbuilt door latch auto locking etc. This is only dead bolt, need a door latch or at least a door handle. I would suggest to spend bit more money for this SHP-DH537 type of lock. You won't regret later on.

Price beat possible at office works maybe…

    https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/samsung-ke…

    • There are none in stock anywhere in officeworks instore around Melbourne don't know if you can price beat?

  • I have the same one and haven't skipped a beat.

I sneakily was able to hide the magnet within the door frame behind the plate, so no ugly parts hanging out.

I would go one with a fingerprint just to make life easier in a future home.

  • I have had this for three years, great lock! Samsung locks used to be exclusive to Bunnings, wonder if Officeworks will become the new supplier

Anyone knows how to rekey it accept the same existing key?

    • Take the barrel (or lock) to a locksmith with your current key and they would rekey it for you ?

Without the right tools and knowing what you're doing, rekeying isn't necessarily within the 'DIY' part of fitting locks.
