  • Excludes Navigation units, gift cards and race vouchers (whatever that is).

Tempting.. but I reckon the random cheapness sales may be better value for the larger items, i.e. compressors, etc. Tool chests/tools may be a good buy.

    • The V8 race vouchers. Gift card for 8 laps in a V8 Supercar….

      Thanks for the exclusions

  • Did the ad mention anything about car batteries? The auto parts/accessories places never seem to have a deal going on batteries, so if these are included this is perfect timing for me!

i'm needing a new car battery too. The ad didn't say and the website isn't any better.
but going by a previous post http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/48494
where banzini did buy a car battery during one of the 20% off days so hopefully it does tomorrow

      • yes it included car batteries

    • The sale is 20% off everything in store that you can physically buy. Excludes Navigation, Gift cards and race vouchers (V8 race laps)

    • Yep, the old car battery is on it's last legs here too! Perfect timing. Cheers OP!

time to stock up on engine oil, always waiting for this time to buy =)

    • same here… been waiting to get full synthetic oil that is NOT a ?w-30 one that seem to be on special more frequently then the 40s

      • Strangely enough, 'Super-CHEAP' arent the cheapest on good full-synthetic oils. I found that out last week when I purchased my normal full-synthetic 'Castrol Edge 5w-30' for $69.95 from Supercheap, only to find it at 2 other places the SAME DAY for only $63, both normal shelf pricing.
Therefore, try Repco, etc. at all other times besides the 20% off sale tomorrow at Supercheap.
I'm still waiting for it to come up where its $29 or $35 like it has been a few times before, I will definitely stock up when that comes around again.
FYI - Several websites specializing in oil testing rate two of the better full-synthetics for our market being:
        1. Castrol Edge Sport
        2. Mobil 1

There's also ones out there saying Nulon is better but you'll never know for sure. I always just buy Penrite or Nulon so atleast it's a Aussie made and owned I'm getting. Both make good quality synthetics and they haven't let me down!

          Castrol 5W-30 is cheap garbage…get a 5W-40 oil

        • Castrol? Mobil?

          Motul 300v Chrono FTW….

Dammit! Knew I should of waited a little longer till I got oil and a filter! Bahhh! :P ahh well the oil was only $20..

      $4 too much :)

      • +2

lol.. oh well could of used the $4 to buy 2x double cheese burgers from maccas between 12-1pm =p

    • +1

why dont you buy now and stock up for next time?

  • yay.. ta, been waiting for this.

  • i already had a list prepared in anticipation ;)

  • Awesome my battery hasn't been holding a real good voltage and its taking longer to kick over my car…I was even in there today looking at batteries but didnt buy..will do tomorrow though!

  • Cool. The Datsun Sunny needs a new Welch Plug. Might even treat her with a new fragrance smelly thingy to hang off the mirror.. Perfect timing. Thanks OP

  • Tempted to neg this. I was looking at hand trolleys yesterday and thought I might wait till today because I received an email about their 20% sale. hmm… price went up overnight. Good for oil and batteries though.

    • Yeah their catalouge that started on boxing day ended today i'm guessing. It's to be expected really.

  • any good 5W-30 oils on sale? According the the website the only one they have is nulan and Mobile one.

    • Nulon and Penrite are great oils. They actually have lower overheads than the bigger international brands so are able to provide a quality oil for cheaper.
I have rather expensive penrite through my engine, gearbox and even brake fluid.

  • Any highlights that have been spotted?

Gerni at 20% off could be good; cheaper than my local Bunnings, not sure if Woolies' Masters chain sells them.

Do you think the most popular synthetic oils will be sold out within the first couple of hours?

    • Would Bunnings price match supercheapauto on gerni? They carry different model numbers for the same products so potentially bunnings may say that it's not the same item…

  • Do sca do any of these waterproof bag thingmys you can put your electronic car keys/phones in if you going out on the water?

  • Got some stuff, Thanks for the tip off.

  • Happens every year… Pretty sure on Good Friday also.

    • yeah Good Friday too. like clockwork :)

Good deal, popped into Auburn shop and grabbed a lot;-)

When shopping online, the freight fee is ridiculous…

Bought oil, oil filter, Flashlube and a jack. The great thing about these 20% off sales is we can stock up on the items that we all inevitably will use (oil/oil filter/fluids), but might not need for a few months. No need to pay full price ever again.

The sales are always a load of crap… anything that is of actual value has the price modified so that that 20% doesnt make any difference

    • +2

The four items I purchased today had genuine discounts: the prices weren't raised prior to the 20% off sale. All four items were of value to me.

The main question regarding these 20% off sales is, are they better than waiting until your favourite brand of oil or whatever is discounted as part of a catalogue special? I can understand someone feeling cheated if item X was discounted 30% before Christmas, but only has a 20% discount today. However as almost all items are discounted today I still think the sale is of value to most people.

      • Yep. I didn't bother buying the usual stuff like oil n filters cos there's always sales for those sorts of things. I took the plunge and bought the Gerni 130.2S which sells for $399 in most stores pretty much everyday of the year and Bunnings don't carry that model either. Picked one up for $320 which is the same price you'd pay for a mid range model.

i've never found that to be true of SCA stores in WA. i go there quite frequently so i'm on the ball when it comes to the prices of things i buy regularly.

  • got my mobil 1 5w 30 for $17 less than normal, sweet

    • got my Castrol Edge Titanium 5w-30 (apparently replaced "Sport" version) too :D
The mobile one was gone :(

  • So sad i missed this :(

    • next one is usually good friday so not too long to wait.
They work like clockwork these sales!
