This one is a net loss for each card. Normally they 2000 points to cover the activation fee. This one has you down a dollar. No deal.

    • Yep, usually 2000 points for $100 Variant, but it the same for both $50 and $100 this time round.

      • +1

I cant remember when last time Woolies gave 2000 pts for $100 variant.

        • +1

Yeah, hasn’t been 2000 for a couple of years…..apart from the advertising glitch in November, but had to ring up and get them to manually add the extra 1000 pts per card.

  • Can this card use for paying bills?

    • +4

You want to incur a net loss paying your bills?

      • not with this deal, may be future better deal.

    • It is a eftpos card - need a physical terminal to pay. You can pay your bills at a post office with it, but they charge their fee for bills in most cases. So, the best use for eftpos gift cards is Aldi IMO.

      • Thank you detailed reply.

  • Do these work on beem it?

  • +3

    no deal! Crap promotion!

  • Is it even worth it if you get 2000 points on the $100 card? $3 benefit per card is likely outweighed by the time and effort to buy and use each one.

  • Any limits?

    • +1

Are you buying at a lost?

    • +2

No limit. But don't buy more than 10 at a time.

  • Anyone would buy this?

    • -1

      No, No one

      • +2

Woolies group staff have extra 5% off, which makes it an OK deal.

        • Generally team discount doesn't work on gift cards as far as I can think of with any company (except employee of an actual gift card company)

          • @USER DC: At least 2 ppl commented here do have the discount as I know. It is a very targeted deal now.

Even 5% straight off on variable load one, known in person from Dec Zip 10% back deal.

If one has staff discount, for $500 value purchase, this deal is not better that $500 variable load one. And you have the hassle to carry 5 cards. It seems hardly worth it for own use.

            $101.6 * 5 = $508 plus 5000 pts
            Vs
$482.95, no 5% off discount on activation fee here

    • Yep.

      • Pointless to buy them(for own use) if you can find variable load cards, unless you value the pts so high.

        Comparison is above.

      • Negging?!

Sorry to know your local store never stocks variable load cards or you never buy them. I only pay $482.95 for $500 value whenever I want to.

  • why is this even on ozbargain when it's not even a deal ?

    • +2

It's still a deal for some.

      • Sort of.. So any better uber eat codes than the $20 off PMAUN.

      • +1

Yes, for people buying giftcards to gift someone, not for own use.

        • +1

Also if you are trying to reach a spend requirement for a bonus when you get a new CC.

  • +2

It is a no brainer this is a dud deal. It is not a bargain…

    • +1

Good for people want to laundering money in a hard way.

      • Wouldn't taking it to the casino be easier? If you going to lose your money, at least have fun doing so.

  • currently have 1,000ish pts, worth the $1 loss for $10 shopping money :)

    • 1000 points are worth $5 :(

      • So adding op existing 1000 points then it will be 2000, not worth.

Just wait 1000 points bonus on other gift card, for him, eBay later

        • but then I used it straightaway at Coles for $50 spend with 2,000 flybuys bonus :)

  • PITA to chase after the points, they even asked for photo of the gift card package which I already used and discarded at Coles lol. on live chat and they bs about a one off 1,000 points adding, I was like, OK lol
