  • Got a $10 credit coupon code from BWS for their app stuff up last month. Do these stuff up the cashback?

    • +4

It says on the shopback website not to use codes that haven't been approved by shopback. It might work but it's not worth the risk.

  • +1

    Great deal from Shopback.
I also got their targeted $10 Bonus Offer yesterday for a $20 or more spend.
Ordered $98 worth of alcohol. Hopefully everything tracks and I will get $35 ($25 + $10) back.

    • Got the $10 bonus as well. Was looking for something else, but with 30% off, will probably stock more alcohol

  • Does anyone know if you can you use this 30% Shopback more than once?

    • +1

You can but the $25 limit still applies to the total of the orders made on one account, so there's not much point

    • The banner on sb said one transaction per customer and $25 max.

  • +1

thanks OP, I think CR is having 20% tomorrow( https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/608982 )

    .

in before people bag out shopback

    • +3

      30% is quite decent

    • Thanks I’ll get both 🌮

    • -3

Yes, but with SB around you don't have deal with CR…( and chase your cash back with Veronica)..plus you have 10% more cashback with SB..

  • I've been stocking up on Johnnie Black since these high rate cashbacks started last year, usually it's around $33 to $35 per bottle with a good cashback. But this is the best so far with 2 x icons edition bottles @ $42 each, reduced to $29.50 each with cashback.

    • I'm a Johnnie Black fan too. Can you share the link of the products you are referring to?

        • Tq. Can someone suggest comparing this with a regular black and double black, which one is the best ignoring the price points

          • +1

@survivedDino: The icons edition is the same as regular johnnie black, in a different style bottle to celebrate their anniversary. I don't like the icons bottles to be honest because you can't see how much you've drunk. But if it's $4 cheaper I'll take it.

Double black is more expensive but I prefer the original, many would disagree.

          • +2

@survivedDino: Double black has a smokey flavour which I'm not a fan of

          • +1

@survivedDino: I bought one bottle to try a fair while ago. The Double Black has extra peat and a smokier taste. Almost ashy.

Personally, I prefer the normal JW Black.

    • +3

Don't forget 30% is off price before GST.
      So reduction is $42/1.1*.3 =$11.45
      $42-$11.45=$31.55

      • Good point. I recall some with shopback where they didn't include GST (Liquorland?) but looking over my history BWS does. Either way still my best price so far.

        • +1

2 bottles almost meets the $25 cap.
Just under $92 total gets the max cashback.

Bought a different whiskey. $19 cashback expected on a bottle.
          Enjoy.

There have been mistakes with cashback, so may not have been calculated correctly (excluding GST).
Think I got more than expected from BWS one time.

        • Cashback doesn't include GST for Liquorland and First Choice Liquor. For BWS and Dan Murphy's cashback is calculated on the total amount including GST

          • @[Deactivated]: From ShopBack site:
            Notes Excludes taxes

            On $67 purchase I received a $18.09 cashback tracking.
            $67÷1.1×.3 = $18.27
So no cashback pending on GST

      • +2

        Bit better than that:
        $42-$11.45=$30.55

    • Don't think you get cashback on the whole amount pretty sure it's minus gst

    • Try this one at $37 before cb: https://bws.com.au/product/11377/j-b-rare-scotch-whisky-700m…

      Find it smoother than black

      • Pretty good stuff I quite like it. Easy drinking with a touch of sweetness after taste

  • +2

Great deal. I don't understand how this is profitable for BWS or Shopback. I thought margins on spirits were pretty slim.

    • +11

Probably through the surges in sales while not all purchases are successfully tracked.

      • +1

My guess is retailer pays cr/SB day 2% for these sales but ends up being more from the increased in total sales and revenue

      • -2

Always got tracked, todays purchase got tracked in 1 hr time..I think I am providing open invitation to CR shareholders to neg this comment (by saying saying SB is good)…

    • Most prices are very high already.

      • +1

This is true but what I want works out cheaper than Dan Murphy’s so I’m happy with that.

  • +1

Does anyone know anything about 'Colossal Brewing'? Google only shows up Dan Murphy's and BWS so I'm guessing it's brewed by someone else specifically for the Woolworths group? https://bws.com.au/product/139513/colossal-brewing-mind-harv…

Edit: Nevermind…I just looked closer on the BWS website and the brewery is Good Drinks Australia (Gage Roads etc).

    • +1

Yeh, looking at that too, BWS state its a 24 pack, Dans state its a 16 pack. If you put Colossal in search on the BWS site it says its 16. The Hopmosphere also states 24 but has pic of the carton which says 16… hmm, is it worth the argument..?.. :-)

      • +1

I pulled the trigger and screenshotted the information that showed a 24 pack, will inquire when I pick up but willing to take the punt factoring in the 30% cashback.

        • Let me know how you go if ya pick up today..

        • Any updates on 16 / 24 packs?

          • @footyboy: I'm in SA and was able to place the order but it said stock won't arrive until Sunday, I guess because it is a new product?

          • +2

@footyboy: Mine turned up today (was on order) and they are a 16 pack as believed.
The Lady at BWS referred me to her order screen which said they were a 16 pack and that's all they come in, I said that's your info, the only info I see is the web page that shows them as 24. She opened up the page, saw the 24, uttered an expletive, apologised for the mix up and said to grab 2 4 packs of something else to make up for it… Dainton Jungle Juice and Modus Former tenant were selected. Kudo's BWS..

            • @MadKaw: Wow, that is a seriously good deal if you were able to choose anything to make up the 24. I couldn't be bothered going to pick up and just got this response online so I canceled the order:

'Thank you for contacting us regarding your recent order.

It seems there was a content issue on our website as this product was an unusual case size. I'd be happy to provide a full refund and cancellation of the order if the updated case quantity is not adequate.

Please let me know how you would like to proceed.'

Meanwhile, for future reference does it taste any good?!

              • +1

@DoctorArd: Bummer, perhaps my interaction with BWS gave them the heads up as the site also updated to 24 the next day. For future reference, I won't be getting it again. Pretty bland, a dumbed down IPA like most other Woolies brews and with the current price there is much better out there.

                • +1

@MadKaw: Thanks, I am much happier with my decision now!

    • +1

It will be a Woolworths brand brewed under contract to Gage Roads, which used to be owned 20% by Woolworths.

  • Thanks OP!
Hopefully this and the targeted $10 promo from yesterday both stack and track.

  • +1

Geez of only they had some good selection

  • +10

Time to chase this up with Debra then get denied for no reason.

    • +2

      This person gets it.

    • +5

Yup agreed. Let's just post the ol' list here with the usual excuse.

"Do allow me to list down some reasons which caused the orders to not be tracked sometimes:

      1) Network issue
      2) Cache Error
      3) Having open other web pages (including search sites, social media, store sites, promotional/discount sites) or web browsers while visiting the store
      4) Clicking through to another page from a banner or advertisement on the store’s webpage whilst shopping
      5) Antivirus/cleanup or Adblocker application will remove tracking cookie or disrupt with the cashback tracking (Tracking cookies are required to track transaction)
      6) Items are already in the cart before clicking through to ShopBack
      7) Usage of discount/promo code not listed on ShopBack

However, we will not be able to confirm the exact reason that caused your purchases to not be tracked."

      • +6

You'll probably need a good drink after trying to deal with their support team.

    • -1

I used this earlier today, stacked it with the BWS catalogues specials, the Everydays Rewards 10% off for over $100 spend and Shopback sent me my tracking confirmation 1 hour 51 minutes after I did the transaction.

Ended up with $158 of wine for $75 (once cashback comes through). The BWS wine prices on their catalogue prices were a little lower than DM or FCL, and got almost 40% off that. Pretty happy with the deal.

  • The Burleigh No Carb Lager case for ~$44. Usually $69 elsewhere.

Cheers OP if it gets tracked.

  • Any issue ordering and picking up in a week?

    • Your item(s) may go on sale in that time

  • Is the BWS website absolute trash for anyone else? Getting multiple errors, some pages just not loading at all. Would've expected more from a woolworths group website.

    • seems ok for me…

  • Thanks OP!

  • +1

Monkey Shoulder at $54 which will bring it to ~$39.30.

Plus I was targeted for the spend $20 get $10 back = Monkey Shoulder for under $30.00

  • +3

1 litre bottle of Jameson comes to $48.79 - good deal

  • +1

Glenfiddich 12 year old 700ml comes to around $47.27 which is fairly decent.

    • I wouldn't bother, tastes like disinfectant. My preference is the Glenlivet at that price.

  • Thanks OP!

Is it just me or does anyone else get 'randomly selected for a security check' every time they order?

I can't understand why - I always use the same credit card and always pick up from the same store…

    • 🤚

  • +2

Has anyone’s purchase tracked yet? I don’t usually pick up until it’s tracked. Gives me time to cancel the order if it doesn’t track.

    • +2

I purchased at 9am and the tracking email came through at 11:50am.

      • +2

Ordered at 10:51 and cashback email has just come through.

    • +1

About an hour later for me.

    • +1

      Took one hour, and tracked..

    • How do you cancel an order?

      • +3

From BWS website: "If you wish to change or cancel your order please contact our Customer Service Team as soon as possible on 1300 138 297."

      • Needed to contact them via contact us link. Waited on phone 20 minutes no dice.

      • Tracked after 2 1/2 hours for anyone else waiting

    • Arrived in minutes last night.

    • Have waited 2 hours and nothing tracked. Just rang up and cancelled my order no problem. Will stick only to Cash Reward deals from now on!

Update, tracking email just came through 2.5 hours later, just after I cancelled the order…

    • I purchased at 9:01am and tracking came through at 10:52am.

    • Ordered but have not tracked after almost 24hours.

      Anyone still waiting?

  • Unfortunately no champagne, because that's about the only decent deal I can find.

Most their clearance prices ATM are more expensive than Dan's.

  • The transaction went smoothly and the cashback email arrived in about 30 minutes.

  • Just ordered JB Whisky! Will inform of cash back

  • I've not registered with BWS yet, but if you do they will give $10 off your first order with a minimum spend of $50. However, I'm thinking that could invalidate the 30% cashback. Any thoughts?

I'd like to do the register thing as there's something I'd like to buy (Pepperjack Shiraz) that has an "exclusive member price" on it that saves a good amount ($25 down to $18).

    • +1

It will invalidate, read my comment history for more info. Do not stack with codes not listed in SB.

  • +1

TLDR; Don’t use BWS app only website or it won’t get tracked.

Made orders last night in ShopBack app and went to check if it’s been tracked. Nothing.

I clicked through to BWS today. Message flashes as it goes to BWS app showing Purchases on app won’t get cash back. Nowhere else is it mentioned and I clicked through like 10 times to make sure it would track. Didn’t notice it last night.
I’ll get a refund and try again.

    • Has been warned about before in SB & CR.
CR had not to do that in their conditions.

    • Dammit. Explains why I didn’t get a tracking email yet. Saw no warnings this morning after also clicking through several times.

    • I'm confused about not using the ShopBack app…
If you use the Android app and tap through to the store, then hit back, it asks "Exit the browser?"

For all intents and purposes, the ShopBack is using the BWS website

    • I used the app and mine tracked ok after about 30 minutes. Have used the shopback app alot with no issues except once with first choice.

    • +1

Guys… I think he meant not to use the BWS app.

  • Tracked after 30 mins.

Coopers Stout was $67 before cashback. Noice price

  • +3

Certain products are 10% off for international womens day. Includes some decent beers. This is applied at check out, no code required.

With the cashback this gives some good bargains.

    Benstpoke Crankshaft IPA = $65 (24 cans)
    Bentspoke Sprocket IPA = $73 (24 cans)

You will not find these beers anywhere close to these prices elsewhere. Happy drinking!

    • +2

I found some Modus Operandi varieties already on clearance at a store near me + 10% off for women's day + 30% Shopback. Worked a treat!

Sonic Prayer IPA worked out to $56 for a case of 16 and that's before the 30% cashback..

      • +1

I'm a Silent Knight man myself
