Why would you want to go there?

    • Maybe the question is why wouldn't you? Have you been before?

        Just quoting Daniel Andrews :P

        P.S. I live in Adelaide

He wont be going anywhere for a while.

  • Make sure you can get bookings for the other travel components before you book your airfare: accommodation, hire car, etc.

In WA, I'm more worried about winter border closures and quarantine. Maybe not even allowed back.

Winter is coming, and this could get worse before it gets better.

Booked Virgin + Jetstar for $150 return last week. No extra bag on Jetstar

  • It's quite good value from Perth (and Brisbane) as the Perth flight is over 2000km.

  • +3

not sure if this is a deal from Sydney - I had flights to Adelaide for the whole fam for $550 before with Jetstar - this would be $1000

  • Not a good deal from Melbourne to adelaide, driving costs like $50-70 ish and you get to choose whenever you go, whomever you go with, and with whatever luggage too.

Ofcourse downside is the time of driving is quite a lot like 8 hrs usually for me.

For comparison purposes, deduct from that 8 hour driving:
      - Getting to the airport
      - Waiting at the airport for the flight
      - Flying time
      - Time from flight arrival to getting ground transport
      - Transport from the airport to your destination

There is probably only a few hours difference.

  • Travel period: 19 April – 17 September 2021 (excluding blackout period 26 June - 11 July 2021)

Sounds great and is a good deal but how do we know that borders won’t be shut down at a moment’s notice? Impossible to travel with any confidence.

  • While premiers are jumping at shadows and closing borders there is absolutely buckleys hope of me going interstate.

    • same - especially WA, SA and QLD -funny how they're all now begging for people to visit after they've ruined so many businesses that have relied on tourism

If you are from VIC or NSW, stay in Victoria or NSW and support the local businesses. There are so many regional areas in Vic and NSW that are dying for tourists, and you don't risk being locked interstate. And both VIC and NSW have some beautiful regional areas.

And don't forget, if you go to QLD, you are not even welcome to go to "their" hospitals if you hurt yourself. They are only for Queenslanders.

  • Meanwhile everyone in SA that wants to holiday elsewhere is stuck paying full price unless we head to KI or GC… 😐

  • Looks like Virgin are competing. Just booked ADL to CBR return for $99 each way in April. Cheers Virgin!
