Earn 50 Frequent Flyer Points When You Add Qantas Frequent Flyer to Digital Wallet @ Qantas.com

1740

Simple bonus for those points hunters.

From email:

"Did you know that you can add your Qantas Frequent Flyer card to your phone’s digital wallet?^

It makes earning Qantas Points at bp that much easier.* When paying for fuel or your in-store purchases, simply open up your phone’s digital wallet and place your digital card over the scanner - then you’re good to go."

Works on both iOS and Android, although I did it from my desktop.

tl;dr: Use this link to sign in to your Qantas account, and add your card to your digital wallet. I'm on Android, and it took me less than 30 seconds. Free points.

Needs to be done by March 17th, apparently.

This deal first posted on Beat That Flight, where you can search for flights and get more deals like this. For more ways to earn points easily/ for free- see our roundup.

  • do i keep the points if i remove it straight away?

    • been wondering that myself. I can't see how they can tell, but I can't guarantee it. Guess you could wait until the points are credited, then remove it.

I like to keep my wallet light…

Why do you always bold random words?

          • -2

            @picklewizard: They are not random.

          • @picklewizard: He's writing a manic story, its a mindbender, just have to go through his post history and put all the bolded words together, I can't believe its taken everyone this long!

How much are 50 points worth? 50 cents?

    • +1

Qantas points are around 1.9c if you redeem them on intl business class flights. If you just wanna sell them, they're half the cost.

      • I thought it was closer to half a cent for most non-flight purchases?

        $0.005

A free easy way to keep your account alive if you don’t have a Qantas CC.

      • Wellness app is also good for that. Drip feeds a couple of points in each day.

New Google Pay coming that will replace the old Google Pay. It's going to be more restrictive and will be tied to a phone number. https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2021/03/the-new-google-pay-r…

    Kudos for finding this though.

    • +1

That relates to the international version of Google Pay, I don't believe there's any changes coming to the Aus Google Pay at this stage.

Can confirm less than 30 seconds to do on IOS as well. Very simple.

    • Agreed.

Although, it would have been preferable to just do it via the app as I was already logged in.

When will the 50 points show up in account?

  • -8

    Not worth my 30sec, cheers!

    • +1

      ok

    • +11

Spends 30 seconds writing how they don’t want to waste 30 seconds of time.

      • Not to mention the time it took to open up the computer/tablet/phone and read the deal. At least the donkey is happy. Cheers

    • +1

And yet you spent more than that reading entering and posting here for 0 cents

  • I need to earn points before they expire, is BP fuel the easiest option? Just putting in $10?

Anyone know easiest way for Velocity, and Krisflyer? I mean to keep them active.

    • +4

Just doing this deal and getting the 50 points will keep your balance active. Or download the Wellbeing app and take some steps, or do a quick health check.

      • I don't really want it on my phone wallet, as I don't use it. I just figured BP would be easiest.

        I'll check the app tho!

        • +3

I can understand not wanting a card in a physical wallet but why do you care about it in a digital wallet even if you don't use?

        • +1

How would you even notice it? I've got old ticketmaster tickets in my wallet that just gets sorted to the back that i completely forgot about. Its like complaining about having an old email in your inbox.

    • +1

You can link Velocity to flybuys (even earn status credits by spending over $100 at Coles) or using Ola (which I find cheaper than Uber most of the time)

    • +1

Qantas Wellbeing App. Seriously the easiest. Just by logging in and answering a question about if you've tested your smoke alarms will get you some points.

      • I love the integration with Apple Watch / Fitness app.

Do you know at frequency do points that are unlocked using this app are credited to your account?

  • Targetted? Do you need to receive the email?

  • Thanks, easy :)

  • +1

Didn't work for me, doesn't say anything about 50 points when I visited the link either 🤷‍♂️

  • -1

The card on your wallet doesn't actually display your current points balance.

This is a pretty piss poor implementation by the Qantas development team.

    • +1

Do any cards in your wallet actually have an update-able widget on them? im pretty sure youre adding a static image… I think its more of the limitation of the wallet function. Plus i doubt its something anyone really needs, the Qantas app works fine.

      • I think its more of the limitation of the wallet function.

Incorrect as far as the iOS native Wallet app is concerned.

I have the Velocity card, Everyday Rewards and even App Store & iTunes. They all show the balance.

    • I’m surprised it shows a generic red card. Everything else I have in my wallet shows the actual card type. Why not implement this and use it for lounge entry etc?

  • +1

    Too much effort for 25cents…

    • -1

      Agree lol .

  • what is my digital wallet?

  • +1

I got no such email. Could this be targeted? Just saying…

  • +1

When you visit the link is it supposed to say you will get 50 points for adding?

  • I think it takes about 2 weeks for the points to show up?

    • +1

I hope notgotyourback is watching this thread and can start similar offering of 25 c for some people that get excited over these type of rewards :)
