  • Hi OP, are you guys getting some AMD 6700XT GPUs on launch (in 5 days time)?

Any builds with this GPU in the pipeline?

    • +1

we already back order the 6700XT, hopefully can received some units by next week

      • Thanks OP.

A smaller sized non-RGB case, all AMD build with the 6700XT is what I am hoping for.

Now that the Ryzen 3xxx series CPUs support Infinity cache with 6xxx GPUs you can justify matching the 6700XT with a 3xxx CPU more easily.

If it's paired with a B550 MoBo, one can just swap out the CPU for a 5xxx CPU once supply improves in a year or so to get more CPU grunt.

        • +1

Yes, it would be great to see a ryzen 3000-series with the 6700xt. I'm not sure it's profit-maximising but it makes good sense as a pairing for 1440p gaming too.

I also prefer non-RGB cases but it seems like we're the minority. If you email them they will probably be willing to change the case to another they have in stock. If you want small they may have limited range available but you can check some of their range on their website. RGB can also apparently be switched off usually, although I've never bought an RGB case so am relying on others for that information.

          • @daffyd: Thanks mate, I will keep my eyes open. Maybe Techfast will have some good deals too.

I usually play at 1440p @ 60hz, so a 6700 (non-XT) would be a better option (in terms of price) but no idea about release date and supply is likely to be worse than for the 6700XT.

  • Hey OP, you got any budget sub-1k builds coming up? Looking for something for the parents.

    • +1

We maybe able to release the build without GPU (onboard graphic card), as low end GPU is hard to get as well for the moment.

    • If they don't game or have other higher-end needs there's better value to be had from ex-office refurbs. That's what we did for my nephew. There are some posted here from time to time or plenty on eBay with at least a short warranty to avoid dead-on-arrival issues.

      Virco RX20i is available now

WorkStation Desktop. Plenty enough for office or student (word processing), net browsing, general use of computer.

If like to play game, can add the graphic card later on.

$1699 for the gpu, must be dreaming if you think you can buy it by itself at that price

      • https://www.ple.com.au/Products/643337/Gigabyte-GeForce-RTX-… . Just went for cheapest price on Static Ice. Gigabyte has been fairly good with 3080 stock in Aus according to the info released by PCCG on order completion, so if you monitor with a Discord or something you could get it. See here for reference: https://www.pccasegear.com/rtx30

        • Not a chance in hell.

PLE might have stuck to original prices, but look at their fulfilment numbers. You'll be waiting until end of 2021 lol.

          • @CrushJelly: Maybe you replied before I edited that comment, but please look at the fulfillment numbers of PCCG and their listed price.

            • @reloxation: You're right. PCCG fulfilment looks good.

Issue is no way to pre order. So you're left battling bots.

              • @CrushJelly: Agreed, there certainly is still a bot problem but it's a lot easier than it was a few months ago and they're usually in stock for a while longer so if you monitor the page with something like distill.io or a stock discord you can certainly grab one.

              • @CrushJelly: Dont battle the bots, let them take the cards are higher price. Wait until stock becomes more available and prices drop. Scalpers will be left with a loss.

Obviously if you NEED a card right now and it MUST be 3070 or better then you may be battling bots.

        • We are speaking about today onwards not a week ago lmao, $2000+ for 3080 is the norm now, what you got your cards for is irrelevant

I personally got mine for $1450 but I don't used that as the basis of my argument lol

          • @ln28909: There are plenty of listings below $2000 though, so my point still stands.

            • @reloxation: Buy it today, and see when you receive it, people are delusional lol

              • @ln28909: According to PCCG, when they list it it means they have stock on hand, so I'd receive it as fast as AusPost can get it to me.

                • @reloxation: So it depends on when they list it, which means you can't buy it rn lol, pccg haven't listed any link to buy 3080 for a very long time fyi

                  • @ln28909: Fair point, I was not aware that they hadn't listed any for a while. It seems that Umart and Mwave are among the ones listing more frequently and they do have higher prices, my apologies. Was simply trying to paint an ideal scenario for a person that is willing to wait.

EDIT: Mwave has some cards below $2000, not sure re stock though.

                    • @reloxation: The last time the 3080 vision was in stock at mwave, it was listed for $2000, was slightly cheaper at umart but they have gone berserk now as well

Your best hope rn is scorptec, they have consistently been the best retailers for the 30 series

      • Rtx3080 rep is about $1000. Yes no availability right now but certainly not impossible to get one for $1650 either

        • No, it's actually impossible to get a new 3080 below $2k.

I've been offered $2.2k for my used TUF 3080.

          • @CrushJelly: Don't know what world you live in, but check the 3080 stock discord and you'll be greeted by plenty of happy 3080 buyers that bought below $2000. I myself am one of them.

            • @reloxation: I bought my TUF 3080 for $1500. As I said, I've been offered $2.2k by multiple people.

              It's not easy to get.

              • @CrushJelly: Well, you said "it's actually impossible to get a new 3080 below $2k" which is false info. There are plenty of listings for 3080s below 2k. Are they hard to get? Yes. Is it impossible? No.

          • @CrushJelly: Reference impossible get a 3080
Below $2k. This as mentioned is not exactly correct. Had a mate buy one on eBay yesterday from a small computer store. With eBay code worked out to be $1749 delivered for a gigabyte vision. Cards been “shipped” apparently. Only reason I didn’t get one was due to the many thermal issue comments floating around. Be advised that you n advice From other reputable computers stores (like Titan Tech) Gigabyte Cards are starting to arrive in greater numbers, so you’ll start to see cards sub $2000 arrive. But these are marked up Gaming OC and Vision models.

The 3070 and 3080 GPUs are priced really aggressively right now:
        *Production is slow
*Crypto miners are trying to make some money
*Some people have more money to spend as they decreased doing some other activities due to COVID and they want to get more entertainment/engagement at home thus they are putting money to computer upgrades

        This year it is likely:
*The crypto rush is going to slow down when Eth 2.0 becomes dominant
        *Production may increase

Both of those are likely to lead to lower GPU prices.

If crypto rush slows down and production stays the same it is still likely that the prices will decrease.

As people have more 'expendable' income for some items I think that won't be lowering prices.

Overall, for those willing to wait the prices are likely to come down. The current 30-40% or higher premium over recommended retail price people are paying for 3080 card is high. In the end maybe next gen cards will come out early next year? At that stage it is likely that the crypto demand slows down so the cards will be more available. I guess it all depends if people are happy paying $1700+ for a card that would retail for $1300 (rough numbers) without crypto and production pressures.

Can you offer any cheaper z490 motherboards or a CPU downgrade? The 10700KF CPU is mismatched, as it's advantage over the 10700K is that it can overclock but the b460 motherboards won't overclock.

    • -2

sorry, we can only offer what we have in stock.

      • Hi Virco,

I'm interested on a website deal but I can't reach anyone through facebook and phone number. What is best way to contact?

    • And I think b460 support up to 2933mhz, so u will need a z490 board to take the advantage of 3200mhz ram. That's why I dislike current Intel platform…

    The price should be $3080.
