  • Recently picked up a pair of these and equally impressed. Took them on a flight last week and while not as good as my over ear Sony pair - for the size of these the noise reduction was very decent. Would recommend.

    • Have you tried these at the gym or while on a bus/train? Wondering if it slips out while working out at the gym and also cancels the music playing on the gym's speakers, as well as bus/train engine noise.

      • +1

Have not tried at the gym but have jogged with them no worries. They feel like they might fall out but they don't. They cancel out airplane noise but haven't been on a train or bus though expect they'd be ok for that. Not sure about the gym speakers though - depends on how loud they are!

I use it at the gym. 70% volume blocks out a lot of the music/noise outside.

Fit is a bit tricky with this one. You would need to find the right size of tips.

      • did you buy separate tips or use the ones with it then?

        • +1

I use the largest tips but it does fall out from time to time. I am keeping my eyes on after market foam tips to come out for these so I can try them. I generally prefer foam tips.

      • This was my concern with the 85t. the earlier models (65t, 75t) use standard circular tips. the 85t has oval tips. concerned this will mean no aftermarket options…

have you come from an earlier model, or is this your first jabra?

do you find the "semi-open" design lets in too much ambient noise?

        • I had the elite active 65t, then moved to song wf1000xm3 before getting these.

The semi open design is fine as the jabra's max volume packs a punch combined with nc. I only need it to be at 70% for a good noise isolation/cancellation.

And you're right. Oval tips have limited options. The ones I found are sold in the US. Hopefully soon something is available here.

But it is not a deal breaker for me as I use it for 2 hours at the gym everyday.

          • @aspirepranesh: Thanks!

how do you find the fit/comfort compared to the 65t (which I currently have)?

            does it fall out more/less?

            isolation without volume/nc?

            • @yozza: With 65T, I had to get after market foam tips for my ears. Thr standard ones wouldn't stay in my ears just like the 85T.

Isolation/volume is much better with 85T. The default max volume on the headset us set to like 60%. I accidentally stumbled upon a way to increase it by holding down thr right button.

I dont run much at the gym but it had fallen out couple of times while doing back extensions while bending forward.

  • Thanks OP! Was debating which pair of Jabra earbuds to get when I saw this deal. Used gift cards for payment to avoid opening an Afterpay account.
