      Well slap them back by using the trick that someone pointed out last time. Select payment type as afterpay, add the code then pay by using eBay gift cards. I don’t use any buy now pay later service, this is just a good way to take advantage.

          I'm only getting 1% offer right now on Cashrewards for an ebay gift card, and they need to be bought in $50 increments. I'm an AAMI customer and via Suncorp/AAMI benefits I am getting 3% on ebay gift cards, which I can also specify an exact cost.

          edit: I note 1% is on a direct ebay gift card via CR, I haven't used the 5% "choice" cards before.

            @jirskyr: FWIW the Choice cards is $30 minimum whereas eBay has $5 minimum. Hence I took the 3% offer for a $44 purchase because I can't be bothered working out the math of whether 5% off $40 is better. Either way I didn't want to have extra credit hanging around.

        I returned an item after using the previous afterpay + giftcard trick and the cards haven't been refunded.
        Usually they reappear at the checkout instantly, sometimes 2-3 days while I've been waiting for over two weeks.
        I suspect it has to do with the afterpay trick.

        The problem is if you buy using gift cards then you may not be eligible for any warranty or price protection that purchasing the item directly with a credit card would give you.

          You'll definitely get access to warranty regardless of method of payment. Price protection no, but that depends on whether or not you're happy to take that gamble.

      I hope so because ebay plus is a slap in face for non-plus members of ebay who already pay ebay fees.

      Paying for "deals" on top of that is like a scam, and should be opposed by all in principle, not encouraged.

      Imagine if every business started doing the same thing, "Harvey Norman Plus", "JB Plus", "Officeworks Plus"…. we don't need it.

      Paying for deals is dodgy for so many reasons in an eco-system where you're already paying fees. Whenever you buy something on ebay, the seller factors in ebay fees to the price, so you're already paying ebay fees even if you never sell on ebay.

            @mrjames: Yes, add to cart, select afterpay as payment method and enter the code…. it will show if the code is applicable or not.
            Just checked on app and it works. Now to wait till lunch, buy gift cards and hope the item is still in stock till then.

            @tunzafun001: Yes, you could. $839 - 20% = $671.20. Buy a $500 Choice gift card from CashRewards (it will swap for 2x $200 eBay and 1x $100 eBay) and also buy a $200 Choice gift card (it will swap for 1x $200 eBay). In total you would be buying $700 worth of eBay gift cards which is more than the purchase price, so the remaining $28.80 will stay on your eBay account for next time.

            That gives you FOUR eBay gift cards plus ONE voucher code, which is under eBay's EIGHT code limit per transaction.

          The balance remains in your eBay account if you don't use the whole gift card amount yes, so if you reguarly use eBay it doesn't matter if you purchase a little extra.

          Assuming your item is $674 before discount = $539.20 after discount.

          You could buy 2 x $200 Choice Gift Cards and $1 x $150 SwapChoice Gift cards mentioned here, then redeem them for 2 x $200 eBay gift cards and 1 x $150 eBay gift cards. The remaining $10.80 will stay on our eBay account for next time.

          Just don't buy smaller denominations, as you can only redeem 7 gift cards so buying $30 or $50s will leave you short of the balance.

              @tunzafun001: You can apply the code to test the item to make sure it's eligible, without applying the gift card. You just apply the gift cards subsequently after the code.

              tomclancy previously mentioned that they are instant.

              This afterpay promo ends 21/3 as per OP.
