  • Where can you use afterpay?

How do they target you for a first order? Wouldn't they not have your email if you don't sign up? Or is it targeted at all customers who haven't placed an order?

    • Don't really know. I think i signed up for AP but never used it (signed up but didnt know that you didnt need to sign up to do the ebay GC trick). I did get this offer tho.

      • this is exactly what i did, i few months ago, i opened an Afterpay account but i never use it, last time i saw the $20 offer as well, i wanted to buy something but the shop that i wanted to buy from doesn't accept Afterpay or they have a minimum purchase for After pay. but this time i saw the $30 offer so i purchased a switch game from bigW. Almost half price, so it seems like a good deal to me. So i decided to use it. Hopefully they don't offer a $40 credit next week for first time user lol.

Make an account with them and then don't make a purchase for a few months… they will send you an email with the offer.

  • I never signed up to APT, however if you look at their shareprice its down quiet a bit recently.

      So what?

    • Share price lost more than 35% in value since mid-February
So they will be trying to justify their position. Good for us.

      • price β‰  value.

        Price is what you pay.
        Value is what you get.

        • -1

          What? A pointless homily!

Price is what the owner of those shares can sell their shares. Not what that investor paid.
It is what someone else will pay, less costs.
For investors that is what matters.

A 35% drop in price in a month represents a huge short term loss in value to shareholders.

So they will be trying to justify their position (to shareholders). Good for us.
          Call it "AfterPay Day Sale"πŸ˜‰

  • They are trying so, so hard to give credit to people that cannot qualify for credit.

Tried to choose Afterpay as pay method in ebay, not available for many things. Not eneloop nor watch band. Too hard to find things with afterpay option. Sigh

  • I have never done an after pay purchase. I created an account some weeks ago. I have not received an email with a voucher.’is that a generic voucher?

    • +1

No looks to be specific to each account. I think you need to wait a few months. E.g. 6 months without purchasing

  • Once you have used AP, how to you pay for it in full so that you don't get charged any interest?

    • Just make sure you have your credit card added on your Afterpay account. The payments should come out automatically on the due dates and you don't pay any fees (just make sure you haven't gone over your credit card credit limit).

  • This promotion is the biggest joke.

"Targeted" but is advertised on their website for everyone to see: https://www.afterpay.com/en-AU/first-order-30-promo

I contacted them and they change their tune of "oh its only for the first 75,000 customers"

But its still on their website with 8 days left on the promo…

So they are advertising hoping people sign up. But hitting you with irrirational small print to get out of it.

    • Yeah it's confusing, they have an ad on their site with a shop now button, and then if you click it it asks you to take a photo of the voucher (which presumably has a qr code on it). Except you don't have one. PITA

  • Offer has expired. false advertising. really misleading by Afterpay!!!
