Can anyone give me an idea please of why this would of stopped working?

I have done one transaction earlier today and now it is no longer letting me purchase an item with the cards. After I click confirm, it says that afterpay is no longer being offered and my order doesn't go through.

Any ideas? I think the purchase limit of 2000 a day applies to the GC's but is there any other limits?

I created another ebay account and it worked but still wont let me do another transaction on my main account.

      I think it does, some sellers that are big it doesn't work. But I was having afterpay issues the other day. Could not get it to work. 30mins later it worked.

        @Hornpub: Apparently your supposed to purchase something under 200 the first time and then an hour later it will open up to buy a more expensive item.
        But it also depends on your limit.
        I suggest use ebay gift cards and then when there pay remaining on afterpay so it's less than 200. Mine was 50 after ebay giftcard and it worked as it wasn't letting me buy a item more than 400.

    Anyway, for those who are interested YES you are able to pay using AfterPay even with a new account. If you were given a $600 limit but wanted to purchase a $1000 item, they will ask that you make a larger initial payment. They will only cover you for 600/4 = $150 per forthnight on loan/credit.
    
    $1000 - $600 = $400 in addition to your first payment.
    
    Payment 1: $150 + $450 = $550
    Payment 2: $150
    Payment 3: $150
    Payment 4: $150
    
    Total = $1000
    
    And yes, you can pay it all upfront by manually paying off each individual payment after the transaction has gone through.

Afterpay noob here, just wanted to double check with others who are more experienced - is there a catch with paying with AP?

From what I can gather in their website, there should be no fees upfront/doesn't cost any extra, and no fees if your account has available funds when your instalments are due, so if I pay with a credit card with more then enough funds in it, it should be all good?

also, some mention that it could affect your credit score? (not that I am going for a home loan anytime soon)

  personal experience, i will just pay as soon as i get reminder and i periodically check when will be my next payment due, if possible i will just pay it to get it out of the way.
  
  i believe late fee applied if failed direct debit so i dont want to risk it even sufficient funds there in my account. you will. never know and you could end up disputing about the failed direct debit on sufficient fund account which will be time consuming may potentially affecting your credit.

    I just purchased something via AP, the first instalment was charged to my CC no probs, after that, I went on AP's website and looks like there is the option to "pay now" rather then waiting out the 4 weeks cycle, so I just paid my 3 remaining instalments in one go, like you said, get it out of the way so there will be no surprises :)
    
    I am guessing AP is counting on people to miss their payments to make their money (like the old "buy now no interest for 36 months blah blah blah" thing from back in the day), reason why their share prices has been going through the roof in recent years.

Is anyone having issues with afterpay rejecting purchases? Just created an account and it will not approve even a $50 eBay GC bought from the afterpay page directly (taking advantage of the $10 referral for new users, the actual eBay item I want is not eligible for the code). I have added a CC to my afterpay account with $5k remaining on its credit limit.

  I ended up just leaving >$50 remaining on my actual eBay purchase (after using up $20 GCs from shopback, all the $50+ were out anyway) and paying with afterpay, which applied the $10 referral and approved the purchase. Not sure why they would approve a >$50 purchase through afterpay on eBay, but decline a $50 purchase of eBay GC from afterpay directly.

I used ebay giftcards to cover the whole cost (Bing Lee item).
Everything seemed to be OK, but final step, came up with error, with message something like try another payment method.
Anyway, I re-entered one of the giftcard code into the box, and strangely enough, it allowed me to click the purchase button again.
Luckily, went through smoothly this time.

        i just really feel that it's irresponsible of posters to say that this works, when it always goes the same way - works for the first few hours, then gets fixed by ebay, then reports come in that it isn't working, and mods and posters don't update the deals.

        My only issue was that the "hack" is now being included in the post body of all of these eBay afterpay deals now, with no mention that it doesn't always work or gets fixed by eBay.
        There are countless comments on deal posts and in related threads (other than mine of course) documenting that it doesn't always work.
        
        My reason for commenting was because of comments I saw in another deal from this event, where the poster told commenters that they were wrong when they said it wasn't working. That is just discounting information that could be useful for other members, and that should be added to deal posts.
        
        I think it is fine for posters to include the hack in the post body, but it seems prudent to also include what we have learnt from the experiences of various members - it doesn't always work.
        
        All I'm suggesting is that if we have the information, we add it to the deal posts so that it is accurate. I don't think that's unreasonable, given that there doesn't seem to be an issue for posters in adding the other details about the "hack" to their posts.
