  • How do you use the arrow keys? And does the lack of them ever get annoying?

    • -5

not really its one of the fastest keyboards out on the market im not sure on the arrow keys from what i know though doesn't get annoying

      • +13

Did they remove all of your punctuation keys?

      • +6

What does the speed of the keyboard have to do with arrow keys?

For thread OP, you can use AutoHotKey to remap a combination of keys to use the arrows keys. An example could be mapping Caps Lock + WASD for arrow keys

        • Excellent, thank you.

Razr software won’t function on Macs - so #Fail if you’re one of millions of Mac users out there. No mention in post description that Razr software is a PC only affair, so the remapping feature mentioned will not be available to Mac users.

          • @JeBs: I see you've downvoted this deal, can you let us know where we can buy this Windows keyboard for less ?
            I can't find a cheaper price 🤷🏼‍♂️

        • Can't you use synapse?

      • +2

        Could you please explain "fastest"?

If you're set on a 60%, have a look at the Anne pro 2 which has a tap function for function keys so you can use them as arrow keys or hold capslocks +WASD/IJKL.

You could also have a look at 65% boards, for example the keychron K6.

I have a wolfblitz 60% that also seems to be great quality, I recommend taking a look at those as well. I haven't used it much as it's for the media room when I use shield tv.

          BlitzWolf?

        • Second on the Blitzwolf, I bought a Gateron Red one as a spare since it was reasonably priced, and I wanted a wireless mechanical keyboard.

          Pros:
          -Not too pricey
          -Has arrow keys
          -Fairly solid construction
-Can save up to 5 Bluetooth devices
          -Decent lighting

          Cons:
-Bluetooth can be a bit laggy at times
-Question mark is in a non standard location (to fit the arrow keys)
-Space bar is a bit hollow sounding

FN + I/J/K/L… look at the side prints on the keys…

I love my Royal Kludge that's only 1/3 of the price with Brown switches..
shares the arrow keys with /?, Alt, Context and Ctrl keys. Can Fn+Enter to switch between the default key mappings.

It will be interesting to see how good these "optical switches" on the Razer are with less travel distance.. or are they just a gimmick?

    • which version of royal kludge do you have? How does it compare to Anne 2 Pro?

      • +1

RK61.. I'm running it either USB-C (when plugged in) or BT. Works very well. Anne 2 Pro is twice as expensive but the design is pretty much the same thing really except function key differences.

      • +2

I have both, RK61 Blue and Anne Pro 2 Blue. Typing experience and sound is much better on my Anne Pro 2. But yea, RK61 is the bang for the buck right here if you are concerned about spending money.

      • +2

They're both good boards for their respective price points. I did a fair bit of reading before purchasing the Anne Pro II.

The Anne Pro II is available with a wider variety of switches(cherry, kalih). The Anne Pro is a solid board with decent software support. The typing experience is great on the Anne Pro.

The rk61 is available with outemu switches - the cheapest of the cherry clones. It's also frequently described as rattly. The software is also difficult to find.

If the budget can stretch, I'd definitely choose the Anne Pro II over an RK board.

        • Thanks for the feedback everyone! Theres so many keyboards out there, it makes the decision so difficult. I am personally using a blackwidow razor keyboard from 2014 but I gotta say it's not amazing - feels like a pretty regular keyboard. Keen to try a compact keyboard for ease of travel and good typing experience. Will wait for Anne Pro discount :)

    • +1

Royal Kludge is using Outemu switch btw… so it will feel slightly heavier than the better Cherry MX clones… I had a brown switch and didn't like it… however, the Red switch felt closer to the Cherry Brown…

    • +2

Not a gimmick razer switches are really nice but in saying that theres tons of nice keyboards from multiple brands now.

    • +3

From what I've seen/read, they're a bit of a gimmick with questionable testing methodology. Still as there's no mechanical switch, the lifespan should be higher.

I have a Keychron K6 with brown optical switches connected via USB. I personally haven't noticed a difference when gaming.

It feels smoother to me than Cherry Browns (maybe I like linear switches and just don't know it)

      • Yea I missed out on that massive M-wave keychron sales that day unfortunately. And the key arrangements are quite confusing for different version of keychron and I can't say I know much about them but have heard good things about their bluetooth connections being superior over Anne Pro

  • So you make a smaller keyboard call it a gaming keyboard and charge a shit load for it?
