(Edit: doubt about store credit - says purchases at “full ticket price” - hard to know if it will still apply)

This TV seems to be the highest spec 85 inch 4K Neo QLED that Samsung will be offering in Australia this year. At launch we were told RRP in Australia would be $7579. Many sites (HN, VideoPro) already have it listed for preorder at $6495. I think this is a pretty amazing price given RRP in USA is around $4500 USD. Especially good with store voucher.

Seems to be a comparable model to overseas versions as well (below from ‘What Hi Fi’)
“The entry-level Neo QLED model (i.e. the most affordable Mini LED model) in Samsung's 2021 range is the QN85A, which thankfully appears to be the same wherever you buy it.

It appears to have fewer dimming zones than the US and Australian QN90A, but we think that's the same number of zones as the UK QN90A. Compared to all versions of the model above it's got a more basic version of OTS sound with two fewer drivers.

The QN85A is just 25mm thick and has a stand with a 4mm bottom plate, although here it connects to the main chassis via a stalk or neck”

I believe the 85 inch has wide viewing angle unlike the smaller QN85A sizes

  • Can someone confirm from experience if gift card offer is valid with promo. T&Cs say must be purchased at full ticketed price.

(I bought the 75 and posted the deal. May need to amend and re-evaluate my decision.)

  • Hu Guys, What is the current best value 75-85 inch TV available ?

    • +1

Depends on what you value..Is it good: black levels; brightness; refresh rate; colour, including Dolby vision, dimming zones; apps; sound; warranty ? Plenty of variables. The Hisense q8 has a good following but the motion is apparently sub par, so if you like watching fast moving sports, maybe not.
