Looking at the tools, I reckon the next size down is a better kit. More spanners.

The large kit has a heap of padding (3 different size ratchets?)

depends on use case, for some people it might be the only toolset they own so the pliers and allen keys in the one set and case is a convenience….others have more tools and might like the extra spanners ….both sets have 3 ratchets.

The nylon impact sockets are surprisingly quite pricey to buy by themselves. So some extra value there. The 138 piece kit has quite a few imperial sockets that are losing relevance now. I bought the all metric version with 6 sided sockets. Sockets are good, but have broken a ratchet already. But should be replaced under its lifetime guarantee.

yeah, wish they had separate metric and sae sets …..have enough sae that doesn’t get used.

My set is all metric. Can't remember the piece number 216 or something like that (quite a few hex bits, but I wanted them). Came across a square nut last week though and that is one downside of a six sided socket (it doesn't work). Bought a single standard 12 sided socket…from Crimeconverters…for $1.

        • I can't seem to find that one (probably discontinued), this was the closest equivalent all-metric set I saw, $120

        • I bought the same 216 toolkit last year when it was on clearance, doesn't have a breaker bar and the case doesn't have the seal like the current cases but it's all metric with lots of bits which I found useful when I needed a particular bit for my Golf and it was there in the toolkit.

I think you can use code TOOLPRO as a club member to get another 10% off.

Made it a few dollars dearer for me

I recently bought this set at around $230 and it is of very good quality. Would prefer a pure metric set but if you're buying this you're trying to cover all bases. Somewhat agree with anzacpaul regarding three size ratchets but sometimes a smaller ratchet will go where the next size up won't. You are also able to exert more pressure on a larger ratchet than small. Depends on how many options you require. All in all I consider it great value, especially at this price. Recommended.

I used these while waiting for my tools to arrive at a remote worksite. (The ones anzacpaul mentioned)
I'm a mechanic and used them every day for a year. Have retired them at home but not a problem with them.

would it kill them to include some cable ties? ;)

  • Needs more cable ties

    All made in Taiwan

    • Excellent, I've been looking for a set not made in PRC. Is it really made in Taiwan though? I don't see country of origin on the web site.

      • It says on the packaging.

I was looking at these yesterday as I got the "extra 10% off Toolpro tools" email but when I put it in the cart and go to check out with C&C, the price changes to $229 and then $206.99 with the 10% off. Think there's some sort of issue with Club Member pricing and the 10% off? Same deal with the smaller set, price went up when I went to checkout.

Didn't purchase or post it purely out of principle. Should be around $180 with the discount

    • A friend had a similar issue when he logged in to purchase.

I checked out as guest, so no issues for me.

      • I tried that this morning, wouldn't apply the discount to this set, only the $150 one…and then neither of them when I tried again.
It does say the promo code is only for Club Members so seems like the system was backwards, working for guests and not club members.

    • An update on this. You can actually contact them at let them know of the error. They will fix it up for you with a coupon code. So I ended paying $178.2 once this is rectified.

      • Thanks, got a coupon for $31.99 credit. Wasn't going to bother as last time I tried to contact them it took a week to reply but they were prompt this time

        • Be careful with this. Initially, they gave me a $31.99 credit. But that wiped out the previous discount and it became even more expensive. So have to contact them to get it updated again. But they were really nice people to deal with do.

          • @Haku: Ha! Just went to use it and it did the same thing. Went up to full price

  • Agree with Whitelie. I was about to purchase this when I notice the price for club members is higher at $206.99. The TOOLPRO code didn't do anything for me when I entered in the checkout page.

I haven't seen this many tools together since….

But enough about that, Biden's in charge now

    • LMAO! The tools are Maralagoing…

  • Missing the critical percussive maintenance instrument.

    • You?

Anyone know of a similar set that is only metric? Can't recall the last time I used imperial and would love a set to throw in the back of the old 4WD

    • The smallest set looks to be all metric but I think the 138 piece set for $135 is better value as you get the 3/8" stuff as well….must be a glitch with the TOOLPRO code as it worked when I tried to checkout as a guest, making it $135 but now won't apply.

    • I got this last year, but can't see them online. Maybe stores might still have them.

  • Weird is $229 in cart?

    • Did you log in or check out as guest?

People are reporting that logging in doesn't give you the discount (for whatever reason)

  • Supercheap are having issues at the moment with the code and trying to apply the 10% off on the $198.

    • Whichever discount is the cheapest

    • Just speak to them. They were willing to fix it up for me.

  • Also 6% cashback atm :-)

  • I need a toolkit - but how does this compare to the following Stanley one?
