  • So tempted - got a red 256Gb S21+ in my cart - net $724.

    I'm torn because the upcoming A72 has headphone + removable storage and a charger in the box. But will probably cost more than the current S21+ offer.

      Just to entice you to buy… S21 has better video capabilities (with the wide lens camera having dual pixel autofocus - something you want in a video cam). Wifi 6, USB 3 (A72 is USB 2) so S21 would support DeX and USB-C/Alt-mode HDMI.

      • Yep as i mentioned, I got 2 codes easy on Tuesday night and none Wednesday Day and 2 more wed night easy as (Other than the IT chat network error)
        Got a 5th code Thursday 8pm est. (Passed the codes off on here to other members, PS none left so no more pm's please)

            Some / most reps are nice and they will contact the relevant team to generate a code and give it to you. However, some reps don't care. They simply tell you no.

    • What did you ask them when you were enquiring about the $200 voucher? I asked my agent and he said the voucher was only meant to be for people whose device could not be repaired or something like that.

      • The one I've just talked to told me they have only the $50 voucher and not $200. The latter is only for folks who are eligible, and they would receive an email with the voucher. I bloody waited for too long. Probably OzBargainers drove them nuts. Haha

    Just had a live chat and was told if the handset is not sent back, you pay for trade in plus $500 promotion both.

        I think the rep who helped me was Jyson, he was quite helpful. Bear in mind that I had to wait a few minutes as he had to contact another team to issue a voucher.

        Use two browsers, keep Jumar busy while trying to get another rep on another browser. Reps not giving out vouchers don't need to spend much time per support chat, so they will be serving more people.

  • Which is the more advisable buy? S21, S21+ or Ultra? Rarely game, most use is browsing/emails and media consumption. Camera is important.

      Ultra has the better camera but is considerably larger in size/weight. If that doesn't bother you, go the Ultra.

      The other 2 are identical apart from screen and battery size. Likely get a little better battery out of the S21+.

      • Currently using S10+ (largest I'd probably go). Bought it used in excellent condition couple of weeks ago. Was an upgrade (side grade?) from S10e.
        Does the S21 or the plus allow dual sim capabilities? Esim+physical?

          Don't go the Ultra then, maybe even the S21+ also as size wise it's not too far off the Ultra - weight/thickness being the biggest difference. Check them out in store if you can.

  • Anyone having issue with the Trade up app? My phone cannot pass the gyrometer test when it is working fine on auto rotation, GPS, Google Map, compass etc.. Its also working fine with other testing apps………….

      • Worked on my Galaxy Note 8. The app is a bit clunky though.

        • Is it for Samsung phones only? seems odd that you can search for any brand on the promo page and it spits out a value. So I assumed brand didn't matter.

    • Gyro app didn't work on an iphone 7 I tested. When I tested my S20 though, it worked fine. That part of the app is glitched I think for iphone…

      • I just tried on a Iphone 7 plus and it worked. Its annoying it didnt work on my iphone se but it runs perfectly fine on all other apps…..

          I'm by no mean a mobile expert but it's somewhat confusing to see mine failed when its working fine in all other apps.

              I tried updating firmware, restore the phone in dfu mode, reset the phone 3 times, install and uninstall the app over 10 times. LOL

  • Is 128gb on ultra enough? All my phone that i have owned so far, have max gone 110gb on one phone but usually 60—70gb.

    • If you're don't feel lazy to transfer your files to your PC once a year, the 128gb should be fine. I've had a 128gb phone for two years now and I've only transferred the files to my computer once.

    • Not really. for instance - 108mp photo is approx 25mb.
      4k videos take up a lot of space as well. If you backup everything to cloud, then you should be fine. Otherwise get atleast 256gb.

    Anyone planning to not return phone?
    It says in the trade up email I've just got that there will be a $150 fee for no-return (value of phone).
    If it's only that charged, I'd consider not returning the phone actually.

                        5.4 Before entering Your Trade ID when purchasing a New Samsung Device Online, You agree to:

                        (c) Us undertaking a final assessment of Your Existing Device to:
                        (i) confirm whether Your Existing Device Qualifies for the Program when we
                        receive Your Existing Device; and
                        (ii) determine whether Your Existing Device has been Mis-Graded;

                        11.1 We may preclude You from participating in the Program if at any time We reasonably believe
                        that:

                        (b) You have breached these Terms and Conditions;

                        Program would probably mean the $500 promotion.
                        If you dont send your phone, they wont be able to confirm whether the device qualifies for the program, which would be a breach in the T&C.
                        If they preclude/disqualify you from participating in the program, they could charge you the value of the promotion.
