  • Is this a good deal?

I need a drive for my new build but don't know brands or specs for this product.

  • Is this better than 970 evo plus?

    • +5

Nah the Samsung 970 EVO Plus is faster and has a higher Total Bytes Written (TBW) number. You probably won't notice the difference unless you do a side by side test.

  • is this better than the Intel® SSD 660p Series?

    NVMe Pcie SSD A80 1TB $ 225 $ 177.75

Yeah, no. CCC shows it was $189 for the past 6 months, only for the price to get jacked up $36 earlier this week to make this seem like a better sale than it really is. Actual savings only like $11.25.

And the fact you can get better drives at the price and at least equal drives cheaper.

My concern with these comes from some reviewers stating that this model has been redesigned with cheaper, lower spec components whilst retaining the model designation.
For example, changing the flash memory from Toshiba to Unic, and downgrading the DRAM buffer from DDR4 to DDR3.
