        *could've

  • +2

I see these laptops on display where i work, they look very nice and thin in person, real light too.

  • +1

What is wrong with RAM based on LPDDR4X? It isn't expandable either since it's soldered?

    • +1

From my understanding its mainly a small bandwith difference could be wrong other then that it works perfectly fine and actually hits faster clock speeds then the typically packaged ddr4 ram.

Awesome value. I think it's important to point out that it's only 966 grams as well.

    • Thank you.

  • That's a one good looking display.

    • it has 8gb ram thats why its cheaper.

  • +3

Impressive. The comparably priced Ideapad S540 would be more powerful but this is under 1kg.

    • +1

Kicking myself for missing the S540 deal, this is super tempting though. If only it wasnt white or was an AMD/i7 - that being said may still bite.

      • Its still really impressive for the price and weights 966 grams i also missed out on the S540 deal was super upset.

        • I got the S540 last year and it's a cracker.

This is a good laptop deal with the Intel, but I would probably wait as new Lenovo Yoga with ryzen will be getting 90hz displays etc with Ryzen 5xxx.

  • Dang, just bought the XPS 13. That 2.5k screen would've been the perfect fit vs the 1080/4K options on the XPS.

    • I was also gonna purchase a xps decided to go with a Lenovo x13 amd after some negative reviews.

  • Would this be good for some light photoshop and video editing?

    • More then enough its a 11th gen processor it should be able run some light- medium games too.

  • Price has just been reduced once again $1,309.27.

  • I've been saving up for a MacBook air M1 but this may actually be a better option… Bloody good value considering 16gb ram and 512gb nvme ssd

    • +1

If you can live without windows and any windows based applications then the Macbook M1 is also of great value, but if you need windows this one is highly rated.

    • I haven't used the 11th gen CPU but don't discount the M1 - I've been editing podcasts and videos on my Air and it's insane. The Air with no fans is incredible. If you put in the thermal pad it's even better. Renders that used to take 15min now take around 5.45 - stupid powerful.

If you need Windows though, don't go near the M1, all evidence points towards it being bad for windows as even Microsoft hasn't got Windows to run well on ARM chips. So yeah, it comes down to OS really.

The M1 Apple laptops have brighter screens, both laptops have the perfect resolution for a 13 inch screen.

Battery life - not sure which one is better - the M1 is incredible but the claimed 16 hours is pretty good too for this one.

16gb on Windows is probably equal to 8gb the M1 chip though. I wouldn't worry about that, the way the M1 uses the memory makes it about a wash I think.

Anyways at the end of the day, both are great machines! I have zero regrets about becoming an Apple user for the first time though, it's been eye-opening how amazing the Air M1 is.

      • I've been thinking about making a move to the M1 airbook - need a lightweight computer because these shitty regional airlines are so strict on carry on weights. I know it's a long shot, but any chance you use Topaz labs software for photo editing? Just wondering if those are sped up some?

        Thanks!

  • No backlit keyboard :(

I see comments saying it is hot and loud even with simple task. Other than that it is perfect.

    • Some other reddit threads are saying it has been improved with a few lenovo updates not sure.

    • Alot of laptops are like this. Depends if lenovo are going to bother with firmware updates.

  • Sounds like a good deal. What’s the best savings for amazon gift cards? Shame it’s virtually impossible at current time to get some extra savings with TRS refund.

  • its 8g ram only…

    • +1

      Its 16GB ram.

      • The current listing states 8gb

  • that battery life is pretty good

  • Currently unavailable.

  • Price has just been increased to $1322.29 by small margain after multiple price drops only 12 left in stock as of now.

  • The link shows a different price?

    • price was just increased by a small margin

  • Price now $1459.58

  • Price is 1,459.58.

    • Updated, still the cheapest from my understanding also keep monitoring price is going down and up for some odd reason.

      • Yeah, seems like a pretty good deal.

  • Deal expired. Price has increased to $1459.58

    • Still the cheapest price its been have updated pricing keep monitoring as the price is jumping up and down. It also dropped 3 times within 30mins so im unsure whats going on.

Update ( just spoke with live chat) they said the price fluctuates up or down depending on which stock is available if the previous stock sold out and any new stock is available the price will change.

The i5 apparently outperforms the i7 model of the same generation.

    • Interesting thank you.

  • As of now the deal has expired due to the old stock selling out, new stock being offered is at a higher price still the cheapest on the market by far.

Brought one last month, good machine but a noise fan (You need to tweak to quiet it down e.g. disable the turbo boost and keep the CPU in 1,800Mhz)

Do not attempt to change the M2 yourself because the T5 screw is weak like an ant, it is stripped and Lenovo charge me $50 for five screws.

Good machine, the windows hello feature is great. Battery life is just a few hours but good enough for the road plus your PD power bank.

One more thing is the white get dirty easily, so you have to love your machine just like your undies.

    • Slighty different models based around the same specs Amazon has a different model number in its title/description and also goes up to 15 hour battery life, the officeworks model number seems to be a older version of the same laptop as you cant find it everywhere compared to Amazons model number, also apparently on forums the fan issue is on a user to user basis some people have it, others not.

    • Hey, I’ve got the same thing as you, one thing I did for the laptop is replace the thermal paste, that instantly reduce fan noise and heat. Seems like Lenovo was using crapy thermal paste

  • +1

In Stock …. But price up to $1698.00

    Edit: i5 16gb ram

  • Hmm, purchased but wondering if I can do without touch screen , just assumed all Yoga's were touch - decisions.

    • I have touch but never use it.

  • Amazon seems to have a dynamic algorithm that increases item prices if there's a sudden increase in page visits. I've noticed this on some other items lately.

  • +2

We just bought one, it comes with 512GB SSD and only EIGHT (8) Gigabytes of RAM, beware.

    • I had the same issue. They sent the 8GB instead of 16. I have requested the replacement.

      • Same thing here. I requested a replacement which I got today and the replacement is also 8GB of RAM. Looks like the listing is updated with that new 8/512 option and the 16/512 is just unavailable.

Contemplating keeping it or getting the $1488 officeworks 16GB/256 SSD or get something else all together…
