Looking for a telescope for kids. looks like a decent price for this telescope. According to 3 Camels, was as high as $91.99, cheapest ever been. OK reviews. can't go wrong with $36—enough to buy me some peace from the kids :)

  • High quality Dobsonian style stand with a 76 mm reflector optical tube make FirstScope an ideal entry level astronomical telescope
  • Portable and lighweight table-top design makes it easy to store, transport and setup your FirstScope Telescope
  • FirstScope is very easy to observe with, the user simply navigates the night sky by moving the tube in the direction of their desired object
  • Stylish and decorative design makes FirstScope a wonderful keepsake for anyone interested in astronomy

Enjoy!

Still not big enough to see Uranus

    • It doesn't take a lot of magnification to see uranus

All it take is standing backwards in front of mirror.

Good for people who’ve broken their leg and and have suspicious neighbours

  • Showing $44.36 for me, but still a bargain…

This is an awesome telescope for kids.

    • Shows $50.88

I think we're approaching the gravitation field of a Black Hole !!!

  • Reviews are average, don't expect a lot from it

  • Looks like the small one Australian Geographic and Aldi used to sell. Not very kids/amateur friendly really.
It really needs proper mounting or screwed in place to prevent losing track of objects.

It's a small 76mm Newtonian on a tabletop dobsonian mount. It's not really like Australian geographic or supermarket scopes.

I'd say it's the perfect one for kids because the mount is stable making it easy to track things, whereas the cheap AZ mounted scopes will wobble all over the place

I have this, and take it car camping to get kids looking at the moon, Jupiter's moons and anything else bright.
It is exciting for kids to use this rather than binoculars, though it is on par for capability.
At this price, I would definitely buy if you want to encourage youngsters.
I can't remember if it comes with useful eyepieces, I have several I use.
Don't expect to see Hubble telescope quality galaxies and you will be ok.
I think I have used it to view Saturn, and it was sharp enough to show the ring separation, but I can't definitely remember the f it was this or a 6in scope.
