    A bit late for Valentine's Day :(

      Stock up for next year.

  • Are those sensors any good? Assume the moisture sensor would be ok, but am doubtfull about the 'multisensor'.

Use of 9V batteries says they really scrimped on every penny in the build cost, or did not know good electrical design.
Would cost a few extra cents for the inverter to use a pair of AAA or AAs.

    • Agree, cheap voltage regulator in use. Designed by newbies!

  • any chance Bunnings will present a price drop on their Ozito Brushless Hammer drill to compete with this?
In the market for a brushless hammer drill for diy but already too invested in the Ozito ecosystem.

Ryobi is the bare minimum for DIY.

      • As Aldi failed to get this one to market a few months ago, I had to buy something else. So instead of $100, spent >$250 and got a top of the line 20V AEG to deal with large batten screws. The AEG is larger, heavier and more powerful than any other compact hammer drill. Decent and worth the money. But I only needed this. Almost didn't get this, but captiulated yesterday and will give away my basic Ozito, which is still a passable drill.

Now I have a Aldi (Ferrex) multitool, sharpener and this drill.

EDIT: Used it today for the first time. Impressed with its build and feel, much nicer than any Ozito. Solid and compact for a 50Nm drill. Chuck is smooth and well made. Aluminium gearbox has positive action, power switch is a step above the Ozitos too. Best thing is that it has 3 modes, drill, screw and hammer, so it doubles as a drill driver too. Great all rounder, decent LED lighting, and well made.

        • And it's quieter than most too. The AEG DSB18B2 with 81Nm of power is massively powerful, but makes such a piercing high frequency noise it really requires ear protection to use. The 50Nm brushless Ozito w hammer at $99 (skinless!) is simply nowhere near this one.

  • Just bought Ferrex 20V Brushless Hammer Drill Kit from Aldi. Looks decent.
Any suggestions on what drill bits and driver bits will go with this one.
