Nev Retro Rocket Shortboard $299 + Delivery ($0 Tweed Heads NSW Pickup) @ The Surfboard Warehouse

150

Some great deals here. Same price in store, so you can take a look, get advice and save on shipping.

I’ve seen some boards at $299 in previous sales but usually just the smaller ones. All sizes are the same price now. For old fat men like myself, it’s a great deal.

Just picked up a 6’ 4” Island the lord from Mooloolaba for $399. The fins included are half decent too. Not the crappy plastic ones supplied with the cheaper boards.

There are better boards out there I’m sure but this is great bang for buck.

  • These are very bad pop up boards

There are some crappy boards in there but they’re not all bad.

Those prices I'd get a nev retro and another carbon jet

    • They're not pop-out boards either.

They use CAD, CFD and CNC.

CNC machine shaped takes out human error and is the go-to method for accuracy and high volume production.

  • Just buy a second hand board. Ride it for 3 months, sell for at least what u paid for it, repeat. (Strip each board of its fins, leash, bag,and sell it as extras)

Sold a few boards recently due to moving, unemployment and no space. For one family I threw in a couple of sets of fins some wetty's and a few leashes and an extra board. Guess I am doing this all wrong :)

      • You’re just the real MVP and acting like a total legend

A Krispy Kreme has more structural integrity and a thicker glass job.

      Silly

    • Buy a high performance (custom) short board for circa 1k and you can easily snap it first surf.

That's what happens when a board is driven by performance firstly. Pros can and will snap boards all the time. They don't have to pay 1k for it though.

But you will pay 1k if you want to ride your pro surfer inspired/ sponsored short board.

They're not worried about longevity of their 1k investment like a weekend warrior is.

Not to mention unless hand-shaped locally.

Most of the expensive brand/ sponsored boards offered to consumers will be CNC machined just like these boards are.

  • I’m looking for a body board (accepted I’ll never have the balance to surf!!)
    Any recommendations?
    I’m 6ft 1
    95kg’s (thanks Covid!!)

The carbon jet has been one of my favourite boards to ride after years of abuse.

Anyone that says these as crap doesn't have a clue what they're on about or are a hipster more worried about image than actually surfing

Completely agree. Wasn’t sure whether to post this or not.

Not for everyone.if you want a hand shaped $1k board and a six month wait and a tiny performance difference, look elsewhere.

At these prices you're crazy not to. I sold a carbon jet after years and didn't lose any money on it because I got it on sale.

I have a re-evolution log by beau young, carbon jet, amazing grace.

And my partner has a soulstice long Board.

They're great fun boards. I can't justify paying over $600 for a short board or $1200 for a long Board. Unless it's something pretty special. Like a Larry Bertelman Hawaiian Pro designed 'Anything is possible' 6'0" swallowtail, twin fin.

  • i don't know how to surf, is this a good enough deal to buy for no reason other then its a good deal?

    • Probably not. It will come around again, and you might want to consider a soft top. Otherwise, something big and second hand. It can take months to surf as it is and trying to learn on a shortboard could make that take years.

    • Anything 7foot length and over is a good starting point. Oh and swim practice. When U break a legrope. U will need to swim in competently minus the board.

Don't buy a short board like this to learn to surf.It won't happen.Buy a cheap long board and learn to stand up first.
