970 pro class leading? Must be an old article, the updated 970 plus has something like 3400MB/s and 3500MB/s write/read.

Main thing the 970 pro has is the more durable MLC cells, which this sandisk doesn't have

  • Nearly the same performance as the 970 pro?
    Absolutely not.

    • Evo plus…

The SanDisk likely uses TlC still in their Pro version compared to MLC. Definitely not the same endurance performance

  • Looking for main os drive. Is a2000 still the best overall? Thanks.

  • Had anyone had success using this in a 2014 MacBook Pro with an adapter?

  • +1

You simply cannot compare MLC and TLC regardless of their read and write speeds.

  • Good price. Bought the Kingston 500gb for $75 at Christmas.

  • I bought a second hand Samsung PM981 512gb which is an OEM version of the Samsung 980 for $65.

On AS SSD bench, I get 2477MB/s Read and 1794MB/s write.

Very happy with the performance considering the previous 256gb NVME I had was doing 800MB/s read and 400MB/s write.

Will this NVME be faster than my PM981?

    • You won't notice the difference for an ordinary OS drive, your current drive is plenty fast already

      • Yeh I'm very happy with the purchase. I got it my laptop and it feels more snappier than my desktop which has an Intel 660p with a i7-10700

  • Seems like a decent price for an OS drive, even if it's TLC. Don't think many people will write the 300TB it's rated for in the 5yrs is has warranty.

Will this fit in a hp all in one.
    Thanks in advance

  • Not sure if its targeted but you can redeem an extra $10 through the app.

"Get $10 off only on the Amazon mobile app. Promo code 10APP is saved to your account."

    something like that^^^

  • Looks like it's out of stock now for the listed price.

    Back to $110

Not even the same ballpark as a 970 Pro
Not in speed once it has data on it
    Not in endurance
    Not in support
No company… I mean really. Sandisk have been spiralling the drain for years and are barely a shadow now of what they once were.

Go to http://sandisk.com and see for your self.
If anyone can link to the manufactures product page for this specific product I'd appreciate it, because if it exists it's not easy to find.

What we have here is a pig in lipstick.
Basic flash pushed to it's limits with what amounts to in reality as maybe passable performance but will end up in poor endurance.
It will work and will perform well out of the box, and that's about all you'll get.
Anything beyond that is borrowed time.

        Hi there,

You are right although this does not make this a bad offer for a basic NVME for someone who is not planning to use this intensively.

        See comment above :
"Don't think many people will write the 300TB it's rated for in the 5yrs is has warranty" Do you agree with this?

I think we all agree that is not the best NVME and my original comment "Offers nearly the same performance as Samsung’s class-leading 970 Pro" might be misleading/incorrect.

At the end of the day everybody needs to do their own research and justify if this is the best offer for them.

We are posting offers that we think are good if you disagree just don't buy it and leave a comment that will help others to make up their mind.

        Cheers

        • Not so much weather or not i agree that matters.
Point is Sandisk no longer exist, and the quality of their flash has been going downhill for some time.
Not that it matters, but where does the 300TB rated figure come from?
I've not been able to find a product page for this.

I don't think buying questionable products from a dead or dying brand is a sensible choice, but each to their own.
