Microsoft seemed to have ninja-ed in an update to extend the deadline for scheduling a certification exam. The article (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/skilli…) now states "The exam offer must be scheduled by December 30, 2021.* Exam appointments must be completed by December 31, 2021."

By the way, I also want to share the tip I got from a God-sent friend about listening to Mozart and binaural beats while studying because I have successfully passed two certification exams (both on my first attempt) utilising this method.

I too have a study method which I wish to share with you, although it is my own method and not from a friend that anyone has sent. It involves doing SFA up until the last possible moment, at which point self-preservation and sheer panic forces me to do the minimum required to get over the line. I got through high school using this method, but it did take three attempts.

      this plus nootropics.

      • Moda?

        • Na, mainly use that for when I need to be on form with little sleep… if you ride a motorcycle it aids co-ordination in the morning or your boss sends you on a 06hrs flight for an important meeting, when you usually wake up @ 08:30.
Nicotine, alpha GPC, huperzine A, galantamine, racetams + omegas + asperine/curcumin to keep everything well lubricated… small doses.

          Everyone's different though.

I'm a fan of hacking state-dependent memory as a study method.

Step 1: Get yourself intoxicated (any substance works).

      Step 2: Learn material.

Step 3: Take test intoxicated using the same substance as Step 1.

Step 4: Spend life intoxicated and working in IT (or as an airline pilot, in my case).

      • So you study high, take the test high, and get the high score?

  • So how do you prove you're unemployed or otherwise?

      Read the deal

Before doing this exam you should do the prerequisite reading english course.

Ahhh, yes, boosting the numbers of people who have the certifications so you can further reduce the salary for already employed under the guise of "there's a million people who want and would do your job, be happy with what you got!".

    • How does MCP or MRP stuff even work now?

It used to be maintaining a certain number of exams within a time period.

But they've changed it so many times i can't follow it anymore.

If your salary is under threat by $15 Microsoft courses, you have bigger problems than others getting certifications.

I agree with you. Upskill and market yourself. With technology becoming more affordable, you can upskill for less.

If you might be interested in completing one of these exams, what would be the best/cheapest way to study for them?

    • +1

      Microsoft Learn and YouTube

      • Ah cool. Thanks for that. Looking at learning some PowerBI.

        • Check out virtual training days, it’s generally 1 or 2 half day sessions that give you a free fundamentals exam at the end. The exam isn’t advanced by any means but it might be a good starting point

Edit: to clarify, so the pl-900 exam is free on this discounted deal. Do it free here and use the discounted exam for the 2nd one. They do az-900 exams free with other virtual training days too

  • What job actually needs this exam

Plenty of roles in IT - work for any Microsoft Partner and chances are you’ll need to sit some of the exams.

  • Not taking the certs but thanks for the tip on binaural beats. Just popped it into my Spotify and got a playlist downloaded. Love it!

MS certs have lost credibility as a result of specific ethnic groups that have networked cheat systems. Turn up to a job interview armed with Microsoft certifications you'll generally be pigeon holed with that demographic. Most interviews I've chaired on this has rang true and couldn't answer anything from experience despite being 'certified' Professionals.
Apologies if this is an unpopular view, neg away.

    • Were you hiring for the IRS, ATO or any embassies by chance?

  • Could someone explain what this is and how it's useful? So you pay $15. USD to take a course and obtain a certificate?

I'm just trying to understand how it'd be useful; my friend is currently unemployed and I may recommend it to him

    • It's useful in making your wallet lighter.

    • Another line of qualifications in your CV. Some HR/recruiters care.

the tip I got from a God-sent friend about listening to Mozart and binaural beats while studying

Any Baroque music will do, not just Mozart.

Why would someone down vote this? It's helpful and true.

      • +4

Someone here can't Handel the truth…

        • +3

I think some people are Chopin at the bit to down vote you.

          • @FabMan: They are generally salty and down because they never get debussy.

          You're Bach-ing up the wrong tree here…

    • Baroque music for the broke jobless people taking these courses?!? I see what you did there.

  • +1 for the classical music tip.

  • You have already redeemed your $15 USD job seeker exam offer for…
