    - connect and disconnect from wifi
    - have full network access

      Yeah the Android permission model is a disaster. Full file access or no file access is just dumb. Not sure about ios, but from day 1 uwp/windows phone does per-folder/file access which is just a million times better.

      An app with full file+internet access could easily send over a full list of your entire phone, or simply need it to open/save files and internet for feedback/crash reporting - perfectly legitimate! Absolutely useless permission model.

      installed on P2XL on Android 10 and it only asked for files. Checking permissions for the app after running it, only files and media is permitted/requested.

      So, why wouldn't keeping Airplane Mode ON - whenever app is running - workaround this…?
      (Inconvenient, but Effective?)

      Maybe giving it "WiFi only while app is running," IF such a permission mode is available)

      Or, ONLY using the app on a device with Airplane Mode [ALWAYS] ON? (Or NO N/W)

      …but ONLY if it functions as advertised

    This is likely to be a clone app of another well-known app.

    Look at the 5 star reviews and you can see they have been paid for, lots of them start with 'PDF Editor Pro'
    If you look at the developers other apps the reviews are the same

      All the apps from the developer were released between 22/02/2021 to 27/02/2021. Every app has 5 star reviews, with most of them starting with the app title. Plus all reviews are within the past 5 days.
      Looks super dodgey.

    Big red flags, put on GPlay on 25-Feb, last updated on the day it was launched back in Feb. Scrolling through the text of the "4.2 Star" reviews will show that they mostly start with the exact same few words "PDF Editor Pro".

    Without having put much more research into this app than these observations, I assume this app is a data harvester. There are basic features missing according to some of the legitimate reviews, including the ability to add text to a merged PDF. This PDF Editor can't edit merged PDF's..

    Mostly, what developer would make a for-profit app, launch it & then never make a single update to improve on the product. I can see going free for a bump in downloads & reviews, but this app looks like it's made to appear as if it's worth something so that more people will download it when it's free.

    Free apps with these features are plentiful in the Play Store. People shouldn't fall for a very dodgy-looking app with fake reviews just because the maker slapped a notional price tag on it and put "Pro" in its name.
