These have pretty decent phone cameras

      Not the standard P30

      • iirc p30 was on par with p20 pro but that was a while ago

    • +1

Wife has one. Very meh in my opinion.

      • +1

We have a p30 pro and p30. The p30 pro camera was much better. Now upgraded to the Samsung 21 ultra. Will list the p30s when I get around to it. P30 and pro battery management is so much better than the Samsung s21.

What sort of crystals can you breath?

    • You got it mixed up, it's the crystal that's breathing. I am now concerned.

    • +1

      meth…

  • +20

Wow that is an unbelieveable price. I have this phone - it is totally worth that.

    • +20

I currently have a P30. Google App store works flawlessly.

          From the article you linked

"If you’ll remember, the Huawei ban only affects products released after May 15, 2019. That means Huawei’s most recent flagship launch before that date — the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro, which launched on March 26, 2019 — continued to run the full suite of Google apps."

The P30 series are not affected and your statement, even if it's just your 2c - is incorrect. Also the way you phrased it is as though it is Huawei banning Google services from their phones, when it is USA sanctions preventing Google from allowing Huawei to use their services.

        • +13

P30 will never lose Google services. You are making stuff up.

            • +4

@enigma48: Haha.. selective reading.. read the whole article mate!! :D

@Ironman01: In this case it wasn't selective reading (though I do that too), I wasn't being clear enough. I should have put the words in "… so this doesn't affect this phone". I could have been more clear.

Just wanted to make this crystal clear because it sounds like some people think there's no way this can happen, Google apps will always work*. US companies risk heavy fines when they deal with banned companies, even little things like allowing companies to pre-installing apps could get Google in a world of trouble.

                So to be super clear:
                * It affects new models from May 15 2019
                * It doesn't affect models before this
                * Upgraded versions* of the P30 that come out after May 15 2019 may or may not be affected

Oops! We can't find the page you're looking for. Am I too late?

    • +3

Yep looks like the party is over!

  • is the link broken for anyone else? i can't find any huawei phones with jb page search

  • +3

2 years on i can't believe this phone is still holding this type of value.
shame about the p series and no google play going forward.

    • +5

It's a shame that the US banned Huawei rather than just forcing them to have all data go through US servers that could be audited.

Huawei where making better flagships than Samsung while they where flogging off their Exynos versions to AU/UK. So much for the American free market.

      • +1

        audited. lol

      • +2

NSA and CIA: yea don't worry we'll take care of the audit part

  • +2

No stock in Brisbane. 4 left in QLD.

  • Normally these go on sale when they only have 4 in the whole of Australia.

Also there has been rumours that like LG this one may also opt out of the phone business altogether.

    • +1

next clearance phone should be LG. I really hope they unlock bootloader so at least you can get custom ROM in the future since LG mobile phone is out of business now but they don't so I won't touch LG phone.

  • +3

Rocking a mate 20 pro amazing screen camera and display almost two days battery and fast charging is insane would recommend any Huawei device 👍

    • +1

      Same 😷

  • +5

    P30 is not P30 Pro.
Although it is not too bad at $500,
there's a lot deficits need to be considered before purchase:
-The screen of P30 is not curved
    -P30 is 6.1" display only
    -P30 is 6GB RAM only
-P30 is 3x Optical but not 5x Optical as P30 pro
-P30 has 3x rear cameras but not 4x as P30 pro

    • +8

Screen being smaller and not being curved ( well slightly at the edges) is a plus.

      • That's subjective, neither pro nor con for everyone. I personally agree, however. It's still a rocking OLED panel.

    • I have p30 and never wanted a pro. Love the small size. Dont need the gimmick tele zoom.

      • +5

The zoom is no gimmick and is being copied by other manufacturers.
You would only need to try one or read a review to know this.

    • +3

The screen of P30 is not curved

So that is a + instead of -

    • 6.1' screen is actually a plus
the current trend it flat screen.

  • +2

P30 pro $869 back in 2019 was the best deal i got on OZbargain. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/488870 and $60 cashback from shopback.
Still love the phone. Lucky for US they banned Huawei otherwise it will be No1.

    • +2

100% agree. My wife has the Mate20 pro, best phone we had so far. 2 years on battery life is merely affected by the age, unlike my iPhones over the years. Shame US banned Huawei, now if we want to go high end Android, we are limited with choice. Definitely not a good outcome for everyday consumers.

  • +4

1.5 years since I bought this phone and it still has great battery life. Can't feel any battery degradation and such. 3.5mm jack is super handy and works great, though USB-C headphones work fine too. Camera isn't too snappy with autofocus and sometimes picks up colours wrong. Galaxy S7 Edge and Pixel 4 take much better-looking and accurate photos.

  • +2

Amazing phone. Had this for over 2 years and still as good as new.

  • Anyone else use this with taotronics bh085?
I noticed about 6 months ago after an emui update that the headset microphone is unusable with calls. Noone can hear me.

Tried different bh085 headsets and same problem.
Used the bh085 on other phones and works perfectly.

  • Trump approves

  • Anyone know where I can find stock
