Jeez this was 759 at JB just a few days ago..

    • That was Telstra branded, this is retail version.

      • +1

it's exactly the same other than delayed updates. Which there is a work around for.

        • Could you please share the work around or link? Thanks

        • I have done that no issues at all. I chose region "Australia EX" so I couldn't see the dual-sim option. I think we must choose Singapore EX for dualsim. I'm not sure if that would void the warranty tho. But coloros 11 is so much better lol

          • @hero1211: Did you lose data when you changed to aus ex and upgraded to colors 11?

Just because I have one the migration and setup from the old phone and too lazy to re setup this again

            • @BigLeviathan: Nope, I didn't lose any data. I noticed that the Oppo service app was gone. Not sure what that means lol

              • @hero1211: Hahaha…I opened oppo service and it came with an agreement page and decided to decline it - I suspect we'll never know what it does…

Thanks for your reply; will give this a try tonight

The next thing to try is having a dual sim tray now :)

                • +1

@BigLeviathan: From what I understand it's just a customer service app. General help etc. Not required at all.

Infact you can't even get it on the Google Play store so it's probably not even for us and it's.more targeted towards the Asian markets

          • @hero1211: I can see only language option not regions where is this located

  • Does this have dual Sim?

    • No

    This or Poco F3

    • There's at least $400 between them. The Oppo device has the Poco best on display resolution and fast charging technology and perhaps the camera too. Everything else the Poco offers is either on par with the Find X2 Pro or marginally better. There's also the subject of software and update policy. And then there's warranty.

      • not sure if I should pull a trigger now, or just wait.

I missed the last telstra branded sales.

        • Depends on if you have the money and whether you value warranty/peace of mind over a cheaper phone. Having used this phone for 3 days now, this is a very premium experience! $999 is still a good price for this phone. Your call!

        • I purchased the Telstra variant online but may return it (haven't picked it up from the store yet) as I'm not sure if I actually want it. Flick me a DM if you want it and located in Brisbane.

Typing on mobile sucks. I just saw the nonsense I wrote. Sorry about that.
I meant to say that the Find has the better resolution vs the Poco.

      • F3 256gb is $509 when on sales, half the price I would say f3 is a great option with slightly faster processor. But find x2 pro was $759 a few days ago at that price I will pick Oppo because of the 2k display and more premium design and camera. but at $999 I wouldn’t consider it as it’s notnit the latest flagship

  • Bought the Telstra variant from the other post and I've been loving the phone! No complaints…. OK maybe 1 complaint - Android and ColorOS 11 isn't available yet.

@bert-lifts posted this a few minutes before you commented

      https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-switch-software-reg…

      • does it void the warranty or it can be reset back to factory if anything plays up?

        • The chances of it voiding warranty would be slim to none. It's just changing the region.

        • While I don't see how it could, there may be a clause that can affect warranty. Might be worth reaching out to oppo support to confirm.

For the wife's phone, she's happy with the current os, so I'm not going to bother updating it until one rolls out.

  • Issue with this phone is too hard to find cover/case and vooc charger

    • +1

Not really. There's a few cases on eBay, Amazon. Chargers are available on Oppo Australia website, Mobilezap, eBay. Just gotta look!

    • the box comes with soft case though; why bother change it?

in terms of charger, been thinking to buy 3m cable, but not sure whether it will provide similar juice compared to the original one

    • i got one from Zuslab. try ITSKIN

  • Better than s21 ultra?

    • Nope better than plus

    • No, but on par with s20 Ultra…

    • The charging speed is definitely faster than the s21 ultra

Got the Telstra version few days ago and it has been nearly perfect. There is no telstra logo and all the telstra bloatware can be deleted. I have not felt any intrusiveness of any Oppo apps. Colour OS has been really good and I love it allows me to remove the google search bar from home page.

For $250 more here it comes with better software updates and the choice of vegan leather which is fair… but it is in a price range where competition is steep.

    • What issues have you had that is preventing it from being perfect?

      • No wireless charging

        • +1

to me, wireless charging is a gimmick. I would rather stick a cable in and have the phone fully charge in 35-38 mins. But that's me!

      • It's not free… Haha

I think being the Telstra version is the biggest con on updates but I can live with that. It's $250 towards next phone. Can't tell is a Telstra version just by looking at it unless dig into the settings.

Also would prefer a slightly bigger battery but that's really not a huge issue.

      • +1

For me, biggest cons would be:
        - No dual sim
        - Akward position of volume and power buttons (3/10 times i accidentally takes unwanted screenshot while locking the phone or picking up the phone from the table)
        - Battery life is ok but not great (i would prefer long battery life in a single charge than a quick charge, as I can't carry the charge with me all the time)
        - Telstra version doesn't get android 11. I followed the guide from here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-switch-software-reg…) to upgrade to android 11, which is a huge improvement compared to android 10. Not sure if that would terminate the warranty, but honesty, i don't like coloros7, coloros11 on the other hand is my favourite now.
It's still a great phone tho, great display, great camera (front camera is a bit washout compared to my p30 pro), very snappy, really good value for $750, but for $1000, I might consider other options :)

        • Hi, once you apply this work around to get to android 11. Will it still be a Telstra unlocked phone or it release it from it?

          • @Andysjunks: I'm not sure tbh. The Telstra bloatwares still there after the update, but I deleted them. I think if we choose Australia EX as the region, it would be the same as the retail version. Not sure about the warranty tho

  • Just about to post this, seems a good price for its spec

  • Interested to Know if this would be available on a telstra plan through JBHIFI?

  • is it easy to find a suitable screen protector for a edge curved screen?

  • anyone tried a tempered glass? i lost touch sensitivity

  • Got the update to OS11 yesterday - Telstra variant
