        • You need only one that you intend to use or create another account

  • Just tried with a new Google email and some simple brower extension VPN to turkey and worked.
However when trying to share with family aka my real Google account, it says they are not located in the same country… bummer! Any fixes from anyone?

    • try turning off VPN - worked for me

      • Didn't work for me. I logged in to Google play store and checked the country of the account is set as Turkey and I can't change that to Australia until 12 months later šŸ™ƒ

        • You can only change country once a year

Strange. Changed my payment profile to Turkey. Jumped on VPN and opened Google One. Still showing in AU prices.

  • if I am already a family manager and I "move" to turkey but my family stays in AU, can they share my cloud storage, or they are no longer part of it?

I tried with surfshark vpn to see turkish prices now but can't get it to load; maybe need to move to turkey first in google?

    • With Turkey payment profile on your Google account > switch VPN to Turkey > login to Google one App

      • I managed to delete all my payment methods and then added a wise.com credit card using a turkish address, logged in on surfshark to turkish vpn both on PC and iphone and all addresses are removed too; that's the only card payment method - but I already had a 100gb aussie plan - $2.49 a month, i clicked cancel - now it says it ends 27 July 2022; and if i click upgrade it shows me in AUD still.

Do I need to let this lapse and then sign up 28th July to see Turkish currency? Or am I screwed because I already was a paid member and now can't ever get my account converted to Turkish $??

        Thanks for the help!

        • You will have to wait for it to lapse before being able to get a new membership in different country

          • @Pricebeat: I found I still had two profiles (one australia one Turkish), so I went to the australia one and clicked ā€œclose profileā€- and it deleted. Now it showed in Turkish TRY so got 2TB annual for 289.99 (25$ aud)- and my existing Australian family it still seems to work for all of them and that remains setup like normal. Sweet ! Thanks for your help! Iā€™d def + this deal but ozb wonā€™t let me as itā€™s past 180 days.

            • @dammit: Good to know it worked. What happens to your AU membership?
I thought they didnā€™t let you purchase another one in the meantime

              • @Pricebeat: It still appeared despite cancelling it (when I cancelled it said I had the remaining days left until 27th July or something) - then when I clicked upgrade it showed in TRY currency luckily, and I just clicked 2TB upgrade for $289.99 a year - see screenshot https://i.imgur.com/uNq8Pi0.jpg <- screenshot, and it said I was doing it for 392 days (basically got the 27 days extra for free which was the remaining time on my current plan).

I'm pretty surprised that all the family stuff still appears to be working, as I had heard that you can't add family who live overseas. Maybe it's only when I try to add any new family that it will give that error.

                • @dammit: You could probably be able to get cheaper Youtube Premium there and be able to share with AU family as well

                  • @Pricebeat: have had Youtube india (it's on a different google pay profile for some reason) for about 2 years on the family plan too which is awesome (about $3 a month from memory) :)

                • @dammit: trying to do this now can i ask who you put as the family manager is it the turkey account owner or your main AU account?

                  • @AussieMark: I already have my family before I moved my master account to Turkey. judging by the post below this is the way to go

  • took me about an hour or two to do this

you cannot do the family plan after you swap to turkey so make sure you set it up first.

Also there is a special toggle you need to find in Google one that says Share google one storage with family members. That one took me 10 min to find lol

Overall had to try twice as i setup turkey first before doing family plan then refunded it and swapped to another email.

Worth noting current prices are 50% lower than the title perhaps due to exchange rate

  • Can someone, who subscribed to this last year, let us know if their account got suspended? Wondering if it is worth taking risk with your main google account.
