[QLD] Logitech Crayon $26 (RRP $118) in-Store @ Big W (Townsville)

Saw this at my local (Townsville) big w this morning. Pretty good price for what it is. Staff told me that other stores should have the same price if they have stock.

    • +1

Yeah mate i went back this morning and picked one up. Posted the receipt below if that helps.

Great price! Best third party apple pencil.
Some Chinese made good quality apple pencils are reverse engineering from this.

Some Chinese made good quality apple pencils are reverse engineering from this.

      Isn't that illegal ?

      • +4

Sure is…are you going to prosecute them?

        • +1

          Scomo will…

          • @jv: roflmao.

          • -2

@jv: He's too busy protecting future tax earners, while culling the useless ones over 50 (soon to go on pensions) with blood clotting vaccines.

            • +5

@[Deactivated]: Every woman taking the contraceptive pill is taking a drug with a much higher risk of blood clotting.

              • @jv: Wasn't aware of that but I believe you, however that negates what I said how? :-D So both are to be avoided.

            • @[Deactivated]: All medicines and day to day activities have risks

Chance of a blood clot from Astrazeneca - 4 in a million
Chance of anaphylaxis from Pfizer - 11.1 in a million
Chance of dying in road accident - 38 in a million

Please stop spreading misinformation. I hold no brief for Smirkmo and would gladly see him gone, but fear-mongering over the Astrazeneca vaccine is both cruel and dangerous. Over 50s have no choice and don't deserve to be more worried than they already are.

              • -4

@jebdra: The only one spreading misinformation is you… because you've been given false information, which you're spreading as fact. Technically not your fault, but refusing to check those figures and/or sourcing them from the same sources who have lied to us from day one is. (For example, convid deaths have miraculously cured the flu and cancer deaths. i.e. They're marking down people dying WITH convid as dying FROM convid.) They even marked down a motorcycle accident death as convid! Point? If lies are being told to inflate convid deaths, do you really believe they aren't artificially marking DOWN adverse/toxic reactions to their savior vaccines?

Second, how could these figures be even remotely correct, given how recently they've been released. They're using extrapolation which is notoriously inaccurate.

Here's one more probability fact for your list:

                • Chance of being maimed/disabled/killed by an experimental vaccine you don't take: 0 in infinity.
              • @jebdra:

I hold no brief for Smirkmo and would gladly see him gone

Who would you rather lead the country? Abalonese?

reverse engineering itself is not illegal. it's basically just buying something and taking it apart to see how it works. infringing on patents by copying it on the other hand may land you a court date for civil liabilities.

        • +3

So you reckon the Chinese are just doing it out of curiosity?

          • +6

@jv: still doesn't make reverse engineering illegal

          • +1

@jv: The Chinese are just doing it to see out of curiosity if what they've designed and created all by themselves by some amazing coincidence just happens to match or function like what they've pulled apart. Sure, what they've designed and created using comes after, but still… they won't know until they check ;)

          • -1

@jv: everyone knows what they are and what they are doing, in one word, disgusting

When the staff member said “other stores” does th at mean in Qld or nationally?

    • Could be just QLD. I tried two stores in Sydney and neither even had the item on their system.

  • Bargain. Unfortunately I can’t even find it on Target’s website.

    • +36

Maybe try the Big W one?

      • I cant seem to find this even on the big W website - can anyone else?

        • +1

          Nope, nothing

  • I found the item number it's 820095. It's not in the system in Vic but maybe it'll help someone out. Good luck.

    • How to check stock levels? Cant search

      • Yeah it's not online anymore. You need to call up a store and ask them to check using that code. None in Vic apparently.

        • Maybe can check in-store and ask if other stores have

  • Never knew there were actually alternatives to apples rip off.

    Nice one.

Back in the day, when HB pencils used to be $0.20

    • How much were the crayons?

  • does this work with surface laptops?

    • +2

Nah but you can get surface pens second-hand from CEX for reasonable prices. (24 month warranty)

    • +1

Nope. This was co-developed with Apple, designed specifically for certain iPads. Not all iPads support it.

  • what is it??

    • -1

It is a digital innovation that enables normal sized finger people to join apple family.

      • +2

because the touch targets are too small or something? what a weird criticism

Does Big W accept Bitcoin Cash in Townsville?

    • +10

I don't think Townsville has even upgraded from pounds and shillings yet.

You could probably barter with a good rabbit or a kangaroo pelt.

      • Lol. This is gold

    • Does any large department store in Australia?

      • Just curious because apparently Townsville is the Bitcoin Cash capital of the world.

  • -2

    No they do Buttcoin though

    • Wouldn't be the first time I've sold my butt for a crayon

  • Will this work with new iPad 2020 8th Gen?

    • My wife bought an iPad last year and has a Logitech crayon so… Yes.

  • What's even the point if it has no pressure sensitivity?

    • I find pressure sensitivity annoying because it makes my writing all wonky. A poor attempt/excuse in mimicking fountain pens or markers is not needed in my use case.

  • No stock in Brisbane

  • Nothing at Big W Tuggeranong in Canberra, wasn’t even in the system.

  • +2

Well I went back and picked the last one up at my local big w Townsville this morning. Here’s the receipt if anyone wants to try price matching.

None in wa from what lady tells me but i not be surprised if they grab for themselves. The staff there are worse than some bargain hunters.
Wife asked them to keep couple of items aside once which was not on clearance at the time.
She went to store next day to pick them up and was a boost as wife noticed items become part of clearance.

when she got to store the lady said it was not there but wife practically seen one of the staff walking away with the items and other stuff for themselves
Wife approach her but she made up some stories, yes advange of working in stores and deal pop up as first dibs.
But to take something reserved for someome else and wife traveled there is a joke.

Its also crazy this day and age that big w cant keep a live stock online or on there system whenever you want to find something and are told stores with numbers fact is stores are long sold out.

Dont bother asking jb hifi as my answer was a straight no, im a regular customer with them but i suppose a price match is too much for them.
