I always think it would be a good set and then see how small it looks in the pics with people in it for size comparison and can't commit
It's RRP is about $90 though so great priceIs it really small?
Look at the pictures, it has a guy holding it.
It says it's 21cm(L) x 20cm(W) x 18.5cm(H) which seems reasonable but it always looks small in the pictures. I suppose that's including the base it sits on so the tree itself looks small (it's that picture over the guy's shoulder where it's incomplete and off the base that makes it seem small).
Maybe I'm just being picky? Anyone that's got one care to comment? For $69 it's probably worth it, not so much at full price (not that you'd ever pay full price on Lego)
@whitelie: Fun build. I think it's a good size.
I didn't keep mine, I sold it to a guy who owns plenty of real bonsai trees. He wasn't worried about the size.
why its sold out so quickly?
Broad appeal and cost. Both the Bonsai Tree and the Flower Bouquet are enticing a lot of first-time Lego buyers (especially women) who see the ornamental/decorative value of sets like these and will use them as household ornaments instead of play sets.

Took me about 30mins, basically 70% of the build is the base and the base is on the level of a children's Lego.
So could easily buy this for a 10 year old, and just do the trunk part with them.Good price buy. Shame no stock.
Seems to pretty much be standard K-Mart price but never any stock. Either get through the order process and get a cancellation/refund couple hours later or can't buy at all. Gave up trying couple weeks back and just bought it through DJs at 20% off.
