Really liking how SFX power supplies have come down in price so much

    • waiting for a decently priced 650W 80+ Plat, fingers crossed

      • SFX?

        • It's a different form factor. So 99% of PCs have an ATX PSU, this is about 1/3 the size of that so a good fit for small cases.

        • yeah SFX, my bad

Got this from Amazon for $103 the other day ($118-$15 voucher).
Running ryzen 3600 + RX 5700 and 9 RGB fans without any problem

9 fans in an SFX Case - pics please :P

I think you misunderstand, the case is built entirely out of fans

      • Why are you surprised? Case is Lian Li o11 mini.
        3 top exhaust
        3 bottom intake
        2 side intake
        1 back exhaust
        Total: 9 fans

Not forgetting I have cooler master ma610p air cooler with 2 fans (in pull and push config) so in total 11 blinking rgb fans :)

        • Ah I thought so - I want that case, but dont want to have to buy a new PSU - and the next size up is just too big.

          • @Fergy1987: Same dilemma I was facing. In the end, I just sold my ATX setup and went with mini. It is so nice that I love it and didn't regret going with SFX

        • May I ask what temps are you getting? I'm running a 3600 / RX 5600xt in a mATX case, so not too far off your build, (slower less powerful GPU, but bigger case) so always looking to see benchmarks - particularly with so many fans! Although I appreciate temps depend a lot of manufacturers dialling in their cooling solutions.

@huggsymersh: I am getting 30 idle and 75 max (never seen it goes past that point) when gaming.
That said my fan curve is very aggressive at 60 degree and all fans spin at 100% past that point

            • @bestbarginever: Nice.

I'm seeing around 35 idle and 81 while gaming, but only running 2 stock fans in a Fractal Design Mini C. I've prioritised a silent running PC, but set the fan curve to go max when it goes past 65 I think.

I've been contemplating adding more fans but not sure it's worth it for a only a few degrees lower in my case.

@huggsymersh: Agree with your assessment re: more fans. My use case for 11 fans is mainly for aesthetic reason. I use my case as another source of light while working at night and having 11 RGB fans is almost like having an led desk lamp. It looks amazing coupled with my led light strips and BenQ monitor lamp

                • @bestbarginever: Sounds amazing!

I really wanted to go SFF for my xmas period build, but it was my first build ever and so I went mATX. I'm glad I did as only afterwards did I realise I didn't really know what I was doing. But hopefully next build will be SFF!

        • looks nice
