You can only get a freebie from them once a month though

It’s free nonetheless, what are you smoking towelie ;)

        • I'm thinking about people who need more than one free/low-cost SIM in a month. I don't see any other free deals atm except for Lycamobile.

$2 sim is not really a starter kit.
It's a blank sim, not something with little value in it (which will be considered as starter kit)

  • Used to be free The power of Ozbargain! 🤣

    Not a deal.

As stated above you can already get one for free each month. Also, Optus requires activation to port etc.

    • Some people, for whatever reason, might need more than one SIM per month. As for activation, every SIM needs it, so I think you mean recharge on activation. There are ways around this; I've used live chat, and as someone else has mentioned in another deal, putting incorrect card details in a few times.

      • I dont mean recharge on activation at all, I mean sims like Boost and Telstra etc allow you to receive messages and port your number without having to activate or recharge first.

  • This should be free, imho.

Good effort, OP. However, if you are going to pay $1, might as well get the Optus Flex on $1 for 1 day deal. Then you get 1 day's use of unlimited calls/texts and 1GB data. See: https://www.optus.com.au/prepaid/plans/flex

    • Can ppl get this plan in store or it is online only plan?

      • Sorry, no idea about in store.
