dodo Post-Paid Mobile Phone Service (Month to Month). Critical Information Summary.

To ensure tracking, use the TopCashback app, click the "Get up to $100 Cashback" pink button to the dodo website, use mobile data (not Wi-Fi) and Chrome browser.

TA's Tracking Tips:

  • Prior to using TopCashback, disable/remove all 3rd party plugins (AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, Honey, etc), VPNs, avoid browsers such as Brave and close any additional browser tabs.
  • For iOS device: Apart from ensuring you’re not using an AdBlock app for Safari, the most important one is to ensure you have ‘Prevent Cross-Site Tracking’ turned off (see here).

What will stop me getting my cashback

  • Cashback is eligible only on nbn & mobile services (excludes eSIMs). Cashback is ineligible on Bundle deals and on all other products & services.
  • For nbn purchases, cashback is eligible for new or returning dodo customers. A new or returning dodo customer is defined as someone that is no longer a dodo customer and currently has no active service with them. You must remain a dodo customer for at least 90 days after placing your nbn order to be eligible for cashback.
  • For mobile SIM purchases, the SIM must be activated within 28 days of purchase, and must not be deactivated until your cashback is payable. Cashback is eligible for new or returning dodo mobile customers only. Cashback is ineligible on eSIMs, recharges, phones, bundles, accessories.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.
  • Orders must be completed wholly online, and not negotiated via phone/chat etc.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of gift cards for payment and/or purchase of gift cards.
  • Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

What else is essential

  • If purchasing both an nbn service and mobile service, this must be done as two separate transactions in order to receive cashback on each individual service. Signing up to more than one product in a single transaction may cause tracking to fail.
  • Engaging with plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, VPNs, and browsers such as Brave may prevent your order from tracking.
  • You must accept and allow all 3rd party cookies on the retailer's page if requested.
  • You must always return to TopCashback and click the 'get cashback' button through to the retailer's website for each new transaction. Ensure the TopCashback link is the last one used to visit the retailer's website prior to completing your purchase.
  • To be eligible for cashback, all transactions must be completed solely & wholly online and must not be assisted/negotiated via phone/chat/email. Failure to do so will cause tracking to fail and/or have cashback declined.

  • Good cashback for 100/20 plan ($62.99) which will be upgraded to 500/50 for FTTP & HFC addresses from Oct 2025.(dodo.com)

    *cries in FTTN

  • Would it still work if I don't recharge and don't port out, so just leave as is if that still counts as remain "activated"?

"For mobile SIM purchases, the SIM must be activated within 28 days of purchase, and must not be deactivated until your cashback is payable"

    • Please see here. Also in the post description.

      • Doesn't say how long it takes for the mobile plan cashback to be payable though.

Personal experience here, and a negative one at that.
    - signed up to the $100 offer and set a future connection date of 5 days
    - date the connection was meant to occur I received no paperwork or connection details from dodo
    - called them the next day - they had cancelled my signup via TCB due to an error on their end, and then tried to get me to sign up over the phone so they could get the sale
    - I went back to TCB to sign up via there, and dodo had been removed as a merchant

Pretty poor experience all round and made me think less of both companies tbh.

    • +1

Sorry to hear. dodo was paused temporarily mentioned in prevous posts e.g. here.

I haven't had personal experience with dodo. However I found TopCashback to be reliable. The rep tightarse is very helpful and has provided excellent service to many OzBargainers.

    • +3

I signed up with them a month ago for NBN, and contacted them for an update, given how much time had passed. They said it was delayed because I'd not provided some info (I hadn't been asked). Some research told me it was their job to locate routing / mapping info, not mine. They also wanted proof of ownership of the property and all sorts of nonsense. Cancelled. Launtel have been much better. Won't touch dodo again.

      • +2

Incidentally, I signed up using the last $100 deal and set a future date to have it activated yesterday. I was with Buddy Telco and that was set to cancel yesterday and I got disconnected sometime in the early morning. Dodo automatically got me connected at around 9:30AM despite the connection being ordered as a churn and me being completely disconnected. Happy with it so far.

Are the mobile services month to month or is there any commitment?

  • How long does it take for cash back to be approved?

    • It could be 3 to 4 months. Not sure specifically for dodo as it's a new partner.

      • So I guess we will need to stay connected until it's approved?

        • Yes for the mobile plan.

          There are 2 offers:

          • Mobile

For mobile SIM purchases, the SIM must be activated within 28 days of purchase, and must not be deactivated until your cashback is payable.

          • nbn

You must remain a dodo customer for at least 90 days after placing your nbn order to be eligible for cashback.

  • I have a quessie - if you buy NBN and a SIM plan in the one transaction, do both apply? Or do you need separate orders?

    • +1

It would be better to purchase separately in case of any issues.

      Please ensure:

You must always return to TopCashback and click the 'get cashback' button through to the retailer's website for each new transaction. Ensure the TopCashback link is the last one used to visit the retailer's website prior to completing your purchase.

  • For mobile SIM purchases, the SIM must be activated within 28 days of purchase, and must not be deactivated until your cashback is payable

    Damn it….

  • +1

When does this offer end ?

    • I checked with the rep. There is no end date at this stage. However dodo can change or pull the cashback promo at any time.

  • For mobile purchases how long do you have to stay connected before you qualify for the cashback?

Also when leaving the service is it pro-rated or until the end of the billing cycle?

    • Please see my reply to a similar question above.

Mobile CIS is in the post description:

You can pay for your service by direct debit or by Visa or Mastercard. Please note that we do not accept payment by American Express or Diners Club. Monthly fees are paid on the day of your monthly billing renewal.

Signed up to NBN plan using a future date, did not receive any confirmation email from Dodo. Is that normal?

    • +1

Best to contact Dodo link here.

    • +1

Same. Contacted them and been told the order didn't go through.

  • Same question as before: if I schedule a port-in, how do you count the 90 days?

  • +2

For NBN, I would not recommend anyone to go with this. I signed up on 14th sept and I still didn't receive a welcome email. So I contacted the live chat to obtain a welcome email. Live chat said there has been no order showing on their end, when I clearly have a Pre-authorization/pending charge on my bank account. Luckily, I had taken screenshot of all the steps. I also received the TCB tracking email on 14th sept, so the order seems to have definitely gone through. However, dodo support was adamant, kept saying there was nothing showing on their end.

The Live chat said there was no order showing, but the person was ready to put in another NBN order for me and asked for my credit card details in the live chat, very shifty. It appeared they wanted to bypass TCB cash back and wanted to put the order from their end. All these seemed suss so I left it as is. I asked for the order to be cancelled and the support said there is no order, so nothing to cancel and closed the chat. Not a great start. Oh well, I'll go with someone reliable, looks like I dodged one here.

  • +2

Signed up for a phone plan.
Shows estimated payable - 20 weeks.
If that is correct and CB is paid within 5 months, monthly cost would be $8.5/month for five months including CB on the $33 plan.

Good transition from More $6/month w/ CBA Yello homeowner discount.

    Thanks - good deal.

    • +1

If it's 20 weeks, you would already be charged for 6th month as well. Consider that in your calculations

  • Anyone done this successfully recently? I was about to churn to dodo, but now I'm apprehensive with the apparent bait and switch tactic to avoid the $100 cashback payout from Dodo.

    • +2

I recently churned 2 properties to Dodo.

One was successfully scheduled for the 30th of September, another was set to ASAP and went through within 2 hours.
They claimed it would take no longer than 1 hour, that part wasn't strictly true, but no biggie.

However, I did experience the issue others have talked about above with an earlier attempt that disappeared with no confirmation email.
I contacted support and they claimed there was an issue on their end where orders that were placed would never exist in their system, despite TopCashback recording an order number and everything.
They also claimed that the issue was fixed and to try placing an order again.
They said not to worry about inputting the same address as the lost order because the order doesn't exist on their end.
After this, I tried again and the 2 attempts above went through successfully with confirmation emails received.

So given all this, I believe it is incompetence on Dodo's part, rather than malevolence.

One thing I will say, the confirmation emails do not seem to have any kind of order ID of any sort.
They have the account name, service address, the plan you chose with the base price, any promotional offers on top of said base price, etc, but not any kind of identifying number.

Because of this, I would suggest you take a screenshot of the final page when signing up, because that does have an order number.
You can delete it once your connection is successfully churned.

As for TopCashback, I now have 3 x $100 cashback entries on my account.
I'm expecting the 1st one to fail, because that has disappeared on Dodo's end and the other 2 to go through eventually.

For anyone that is curious, Dodo uses Vocus, which is considered one of the lesser backhaul providers, but when you take the $100 cashback and promotional pricing into account, it's okay.
25/5 works out to be ~$30 per month for the first 6 months.

I would recommend them to anyone with low standards who is happy with 25/5, since the $100 cashback is flat across the range.

I would also recommend choosing to schedule the connection date, even if it is 1-2 days ahead, because that means the churning will probably happen while you are sleeping and hopefully that means less downtime.

Dodo uses IPoE, so no username or password required.

      • Thanks for that! I'll give it a go.

  • +1

I churned with immediate effect a few days ago. Went pretty smooth. I forget if it was an hour or a day for the cashback to track. NBN churn took like 15 minutes. I think it switched immediately after I got the order confirmation at like 10pm.

CGNAT switch off was smooth via online chat - tech support walked me through setting up PPPoE instead of Dynamic IP in case Dynamic IP caused issues, but it wasn't a problem. Didn't even need to restart my router; just like a 30s disconnect.

    • Follow-up: I had to contact their live chat again today to request the promised 500mbps upgrade because I was still stuck on 100mbps despite their promise that it should change on 1st October, so that was disappointing. At least the agent processed the upgrade quickly after waiting a while to talk to them.

same negative experience in sign up with topcashback. Credit card $1 gone through and support team said no order. Support asked me what device I used, I said a Mac computer. They asked me to try something else. So an apple ipad next. Same $1 gone through but no order. Then they asked me to try my iphone, put the phone in landscape mode and full screen .. in my sillyness I complied. So I ended up with 3 x $1 charge on my credit card and no orders. What a shocking system that I have never experienced ever in my life. So i said bye bye and they said the pending charges will disappear as there are no orders. What the!!!!!

  • +2

It appears Dodo has fixed the nbn order confirmation issue. I’ve just signed up and scheduled the connection for Oct, got both email confirmation and SMS confirmation within a minute.

And $100 TopCashback tracking within 5 minutes.

  • +1

Sharing my experience. Churned over today with a downtime of about 8 hours as I had scheduled my free month with Buddy Telco to cancel on the same day (serviced stopped about 1am). Btw I also had a 7 hour downtime when I churned from Exetel to Buddy Telco doing the same thing in the previous month. Next time I might set the churn date for the day before the current isp gets disconnected for hopefully minimum downtime.

I actually had to make 2 orders as I mistakingly ordered the modem via payment plan when I didn't need one. And Dodo can't cancel just the modem, they have to cancel the entire order. I had to check with TA to see if I was still eligible for the $100 on the second order. Thankfully a Dodo rep confirmed with him that I was. After I got the refund, I made another order. A second $100 entry appeared in TCB and the first one was declined.

Speed tests are giving me 100/50 so far even though I signed up for 100/20. My Buddy Telco recently had the 1000/50 upgraded to 1000/100, not that that should have any relation.

  • +2

Had no issue getting connected this morning. Signed up on Saturday for a scheduled connection today, switching from Superloop (who waived the 30 day notice rule and scheduled disconnection for today). Cashback tracked immediately. 1 hour downtime and I'm now getting 105/37 without any configuring on my end. The boost to 500Mbps is coming on 1 October. Very happy!

  • I found it very easy getting on board with these guys just under 2 weeks ago for this deal & I'd previously had a very poor experience with them in the mid 2000's, so was very wary.

Scheduled the connection for the 20th of September, communication from them was excellent. Cashback tracked quickly. Only issue that I did have was when the Leaptel connection went down, about 1 hour later my router kept dropping the new dodo connection. I phoned them and they switched off cgnat & 30 minutes later I had a public ip and all the disconnections stopped.

Been pretty much flawless ever since. Definitely reach out to them and have them switch off cgnat if you have issues.

With the cashback it basically works out under $50 a month for 6 months of 500/50. If you're on FTTP & unlikely to need a lot of support it really is a no brainer.

  • I've swapped 2 mobile services yesterday (30/09) - cashback shows payable in 20 weeks - on the previous offer Dodo $33/month with 50% off for 4 months.

Process went well - shows Dodo Mobile.
Whilst doing speedtests, provider is shown as Vocus.

Plan got activated with 40gb + 20 gb bonus for the first month.
$300 international call value which equates to 300 minutes as all destinations I call are $1/minute.

    Thanks.

  • Anyone have their speeds upgraded yet? Mine hasn't…

    • Not yet here either. But my upload was 50 from the moment I was activated (26/09, signed up for 100/20)

    • FTTP still not upgraded yet….

      • Mine has now. But dunno when exactly.

  • Cheers OP! 🍻

  • Do we need to contact them to put us up to 500mbps? Will it invalidate the cashback?

    • +1

The 100/20 plan ($62.99) will be automatically upgraded to 500/50 for FTTP & HFC addresses from Oct 2025. It won't affect cashback.

I'm not with dodo although on the same plan. I had to reset both my modem and nbn box to get the 500/50 Mbps (5G).

      • +1

Thanks for the extra info. I gave them a call and they said they're doing the upgrades in batches. So in my case, it hasn't changed yet. Hope this helps if anyone else is in the same boat. Fingers crossed it'll be soon! Thanks for posting the deal by the way. Looking forward to that juicy $100 cashback :)

        • +2

Live chat processed my upgrade immediately when I questioned them about it, so you can ask them to do it if you want.

          • +1

@Alzori: Interesting. Thanks for the info. When I asked they said nothing could be done except wait for it to be done. I'll give them a week and if not, I'll call again.

    • Did a speedtest and found they have upgraded my speed (without communicating it to me).

      • Same experience with a different provider.

  • Anyone able to order through browser in tcb app or safari?
It won’t let me pick “no mobile plan”, the continue button won’t appear

  • Terrible service from Dodo. Today is my activation day and I haven't had internet since early in the morning. It's late afternoon and I still don't have internet. The CS say they have to check within their tech team which will take around 2 business days, and they have no idea why it's not working.

    At least the cashback tracked.

  • My nbn service connected pretty well and quickly however unfortunately my cashback was not tracked and this is going to be a headache. TCB wants an order number starting with 2 and is 8 numbers long, yet dodo is unable to find this order number starting with 2. submitted what was told to me by dodo and submitted this to the untracked TCB ticket to see how it goes.
Hopefully it still can get submitted as dodo cannot find this order number that TCB needs…..

    • It might be the "Receipt Number."

Did you happen to take a screenshot of the Order Summary on their site once your order was complete?

It showed up on there but unfortunately it doesn't show up in their order confirmation email for whatever reason.

  • Its funny how when I signed up with these guys, they didn't send me any order confirmation email. When I contacted them, they said there is no order on their end, I am not even their customer and I don't exist in their database. Yet, I have now started receiving their marketing/ spam newsletter emails from past few weeks. I thought I was Not their customer! Go figure.

    • may i ask when do you singed? Sept?

      • Yes, in mid September.

  • I just signed up for a late November connection. Cashback tracked almost instantly. Order confirmation received. All correct.

Let's hope the transfer will be smooth and CGNAT opt-out is only a quick chat and not heaps of back and forth.
