I just watched the review of this charger today. Looks pretty good. Aussie review here:

    • Terrible review. He has no idea what GaN is.

He also says you don't have to worry about which port you use when they are clearly labelled with different wattages.

he makes harvey norman salesmen look informed.

      • Can pricebeat at Officeworks for $63.65 too if you want to pick one up ASAP.

        • Different USB type, A vs C

@BlueGlass: Looks like the right one with the wrong picture and wrong specs.

I'm not sure I'd go as far as saying it's "tiny size in comparison to the Apple wall chargers". I just measured my MBP charger and this one is only about 1cm shorter on length and a little over half a cm shorter on height.

    • +4

Yep, like all of the other major brands, it's a lazy execution of GaN technology as it's barely any smaller than standard chargers.

      • +1

Agreed. Lazy execution is probably the best way to describe it. If it's not atleast 2/3 the size and 100W I'm not interested.

It's only now that I realise how much better the US style plug is as it makes it easier to shrink the size for these chargers. The plug will always be as issue for us.

  • I have two of these Belkin GaN chargers. I’ve had two other unbranded GaN chargers and they stopped working/didn’t work properly.

    • Belkin is nothing more than overpriced junk these days. It used to be a really good brand, but not so much anymore.

  • What is it these days that phones don't come with chargers and chargers don't come with cables.

    • Capitalism.

Come on now, Samsung and Apple want to save the planet - they don't care about money. /s

  • This one is worth considering. I know it's not 2 x USB C but it's good value:

    • Those dimensions are bordering on Apple charger territory. Hard pass.

Belkin is absolute junk. I'm not sure how they became the defacto accessory of choice for Apple devices (probably because they make everything in white). I'm a mobile IT technician and the number of Apple fanboys who have all the Belkin accessories makes me laugh.

    • Their accessories probably cost more than some people's phones :P

    • Because they used to offer a lifetime warranty on their products. That tends to get people to believe they're good quality. Ofc now they don't offer it.

      • I bought a Belkin screen protector for my iphone 12. I dropped the phone and the screen protector developed a small crack. I contacted Belkin and they sent me a replacement screen protector free of cost, no questions asked! Couldn't be happier.

  • This deal has expired, but the vendor claims to be offering a 100W model soon. Might be worth keeping an eye open: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/617406

    • That's the one I'm holding out for.
