Absolute fantastic price for this game (probably because a new one is likely out in September). The game is on sale on the AU store too but for $36!
You do not require a VPN to buy this and can log in with your normal account.
However, what you do need is a payment method for the region that the store belongs too which is the EU plus a few other countries such as Iceland.
Credit card issued in one of these countries will do. Paypal from one of those countries will do.
I am assuming a PaySafe card bought in the UK (which is digital and can be sent by e-mail) will do.
Of course, making a new UK account and then loading it with credit bought online (you can buy a five pound card) will also work.

    I could not get this to work, even though I have legitimate UK addresses and a Amazon UK account (my in-laws are British). Every time I go to checkout, with or without VPN active, Amazon geo-blocks my purchase.

    Bought a GPB 5 pound MS card, when redeeming in my microsoft account i am told

    "This code is for another region
    It was purchased in a different region from your account. Get more info
    This code is for another region It was purchased in a different region from your account.
    PUR-CsvCurrencyMismatch"

    Any ideas?

    I already added a London address as preferred billing and shipping addresses + set my profile address to the same.

    Just type "Clifford Chance" London into Google and use their address. Or Hyatt Hotel.
    I did not have to do any of this - merely a payment method that matched the store region I was buying from was needed (I tried before with Austin card and that is when such notice popped up.).

      Did the Clifford Chance thing, that part of the process worked.
      Now I get an error about payment region not matching.
      Going to let this go now.
      Really not worth the hassle is it?

        ok, got it to work but I had to did everything possible. including

        1. Set your microsoft account (on a pc) to region UK
        2. Set your XBOX (on xbox itself) - Setting - region to UK
        3. Added a UK billing and shipping address
        4. Added a payment (aussie ING card) for a new billing method + used the same UK billing address
        5. Set my Windows PC to region UK
        6. Use an incognito browser tab

        Woot! A bit of effort, like 5 minutes, not too bad.

        What this means is what I described: you need a card issued in one of the countries you can pick when the address field comes up (EU plus some other countries such as Iceland) or a Paypal set to the UK as main address.
        Failing that, a Paysafecard code from the UK will do, or a UK account loading it with UK credit bought online.
        I used a card issued in the EU which worked fine.
        If you know someone like that they can buy the game for you as you can now gift games.

          @Lysander: you mean the gift card, right? yes I bought a £5 GBP gift card from eneba about $10 AUD. Then used a random UK address for a toy shop in West End, London.

          Payment options: credit card does NOT have to be issued from those countries, my ING card was aus issued.
