Cheapest on ebay, Amazon atm. With 30% off.

    • Amazon can often deliver a lot sooner than ebay.

  • +6

So this is basically a mini taser ?

    • +55

In the same way a standard lighter is a mini flamethrower.

      • +31

Good point… I might get one of each for the kids….

        • +3

          Yes jv, please do

        • +1

please buy a vape stick also as it is a mini bomb, can explode anytime

      • +3

        You can buy mini flamethrowers?
        Runs to google

        • +2

If anyone asks, just say that you are making creme brulee.

      • +1

In what way is a standard lighter not a mini flamethrower?

  • +4

I bought one of these lighters last time it was on sale, pretty cool party trick, but whatever you need to light needs to fit between the prongs. But still pretty cool.

    • U guess most would use it for ciggies.

      • +1

        e-ciggies :)

    • +1

The gap between prongs seems pretty small. Can it fit a cigarette in it?

      • +2

I bought one of these in Japan and a regular tailor would absolutely not fit. I found a random mostly full deck of darts in a Tokyo smoking area and they were all super slimline - it seems like this is what it was designed for.

I also ended up leaving the damn thing in my check-in luggage - that was not fun unpacking everything in my suitcase trying to find the bloody thing at the gate being the last one to board. Lesson learned!

      • +2

Used a plasma arc lighter for years back before I quit smoking and no, they don't fit a cigarette inbetween the prongs but they don't need to in order to light them. You tilt it side on then tip towards you almost like taking a sip lighting at a 45 rather than trying to light it head on.

These are also perfect for lighting candles and threatening people self defense…

    • +2

It's "rugged", called the "explorer", and specifically mentions things like camping and hiking multiple times in the description, so it's pretty clearly meant to be used in those conditions for lighting fires where you would be lighting kindling etc.

  • +25

Any reason you've listed a first aid kit with the Plasma Lighter Electronic Dual Arc? :)

    • +11

How else are you going to stop the bleeding quickly without searing the flesh? 😁

  • Wish it was on a long handle to get close to the gas nozzle of a stove and gas bbq

  • I ordered it, don't even smoke.

    • +22

      Also don't go out.

  • Got one. Camo one looked cool

    • +6

      Good luck finding it.

  • I might have to take smoking back up…..not.

  • +1

It's showing $21.24. How do you get it for $14.86?

    • +3

Click on the "coupon" check box and then add to cart. The lower price will show at checkout

  • What’s the chances Bear Grylls would approve of this being used in a survival situation?

    • +9

"I'm going to light a fire using this high voltage arc I made from the carcass of a dead parrot I found, but first I need to hydrate. Cameraman, piss in this bottle please."

      • Doesn't he go straight to an enema these days?

        • +3

          Don't we all?

  • +4

got one, dont need one. Seller's perfect customer.

    • You have to proceed to checkout first

      • yeah haha i got there. I updated my comment (i guess before you refreshed). i didn't even need one, but i'll have fun when it arrives tomorrow afternoon

  • +1

Go right through to checkout and then it'll appear for the $14.86

  • this is useless to me, i don't even smoke.

with that said, in for 1.

  • +2

The “USB rechargeable” part puts me off. Imagine you need a light, but it doesn’t work because the battery is flat.
I’ll stick with good old-fashioned gas lighters.

    • +3

Just as smoking isn't good, neither is the gas you're inhaling when lighting up. Electric lighters are also cost effective for number of lights vs bic lighters purchased.

A full charge lasts a night out and then some

      • A full charge lasts a night out and then some

        With emphasis on "then some"…

This claims 300 uses per charge, so hopefully you aren't smoking that many in one night.
Then again, I know some people who might like to prove me wrong ;-)

    • +9

Imagine you need a lighter and there's no lighter fuel in it :/ when you try to spark it up. Easier to usb charge then refuel lighter.

    • +1

I got one a few weeks ago. Mine came with a small amount of charge and hasn't needed charged since. That's even with my little pyromaniacs kids using it to burn every bit of paper, grass, rag etc. they could get their grubby little hands on over the school holidays.

      • Yeah this lighter is great. Kids managed to burn the neighbours house down with this, nifty little thing. You wouldn't have thought something so small is so capable.

    • This is clearly not made to be something you just carry around with you to light your cigarettes lol. It's a "rugged" "explorer" outdoors lighter for taking camping etc.

  • Thanks Op! Looks good. Got one.

  • Sometimes I get a little impatient with my regular clicky gas lighter needing half a dozen presses to light, or going out with the slightest breeze. Just trying to light a Samba wax lighter cube, to start a charcoal chimney.

Would this actually do a better job of it? Assuming the corner of the cube fits.

  • +2

Just bought one of these lighters from Amazon last night for $22. Great timing.

  • Grabbed one!

  • bargain!

  • +1

Got the lighter the last time. It isn't really functional. Hard to even light brand new candles as you need to angle it correctly (upside down) and the wick is too close to the wax.

    • Straighten the wick up first?

      • Yes did that. The other issue with this lighter is that the area to light things is also very narrow. So some things would need to be lit at an awkward angle.

Otherwise the build quality is okay

  • +1

Wouldn't something like this be better? Don't know but it looks from the picture you don't need to fit something between narrow arcs.

    • I bought 2 of these a few months ago…it’s a fingerprint magnet…and scratches easily…something that you may need to consider for daily use.

      • Says………………Use only in well ventilated area.
        Why :-)

      • Are they any good. Finger print & scratches aside?

        • Better than a normal lighter. And rechargeable.

          • @[Deactivated]: Good to hear, tks. Would this light a Tea light little candle without fuss (do you know)

            • +1

@Borg: Yes it will. It’s a plasma arc dude…but if you are not gonna use it for ciggies, u may as well buy the version I have in my kitchen:

              https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ARC-Flameless-USB-Lighter-BBQ-Wi…

              • @[Deactivated]: Thanks. Yeap, I know its a plasma arc however candle wicks can be a pain to light if arc is only touching small area (wick alone). The tiny wick could burn out before it has time to melt the wax i.e. if the flame is too hot as it needs time to melt the candle wax. A normal lighter flame is larger and melts a little wax at base of the wick and at the same time lights the wick if that makes sense.

I was looking for something small like a lighter however thanks for that link as food for thought now :-)

  • +1

    Whatever just bought one.

  • +2

obviously everyone likes fire and no one wants the first aid kits. risk takers… :)

  • got one. thanks

  • Is E lighter safe

  • mine just arrived 15mins ago. I have attempted to burn so many things already

  • When are they discounting lighters again OP?

    • The green one back to stock, only 50 in stock.

      • Discount finished? I added a green one to cart and it's showing as $21.24

        • Seems the promotion finished. Sold out:)

          Welcome next time:)

  • Mine arrived this morning. So much fun. No amount of paper can obstruct the beam.

  • Is it suitable for lighting a cigarette?

  • If any of you don’t mind waiting, the camo green:

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/USB-Rechargeable-Flameless-Elect…

$10.70 USD or $13.81 (plus maybe a 50c transaction fee depending on how your PayPal is linked)..

My personal pick would be this model (as it should fit inside a ciggy packet):

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Rechargeable-Mini-Slim-Electric-…

    About $16…
